With ocean and mountain views, the home is located on a quiet street in a friendly neighborhood where locals walk, hike, bike, and live, yet it is so close to all that visitors will want to explore. It is a mere 5-minute drive to the heart of downtown State Street or head to the ocean; it too is only minutes away. The home is set up perfectly for dual living with two kitchens, yes, TWO kitchens! Though the home flows beautifully from one space to another as one residence, there is also the option of closing off one area from another to create two separate living spaces, each with its own entrance. Enter the home from the front terrace, where a sectional sofa, barbecue, and a dining table for eight set the scene for entertaining, or just hanging out. Below is a hidden garden with a fire pit as well. Inside, the mood is comfortable and inviting. The unique pendant fixtures, distressed oak floors, and Spanish tile accents throughout the home bring out the intended Santa Barbara style with a unique point of view. The kitchen offers stainless steel appliances, colorful dishes, and plenty of serving pieces. It is anchored by a Viking gas range that sits beneath an inlaid tile mosaic backsplash, continuing the Spanish theme found throughout. Have a casual lunch at the granite peninsula or whip up a batch of salsa and guacamole with fresh ingredients from the Mesa Produce open-air market nearby. Enjoy grazing and tasting samples of local fare at Lazy Acres Market, or grab an espresso at Lighthouse Coffee. In all there are three bedrooms. On the main level are two bedrooms, each with queen-size beds. The south bedroom opens to the front terrace through Fleetwood, stacking glass doors that create an indoor-outdoor sanctuary. The other bedroom features French doors leading to a private back patio; a hall bathroom services the main level with a large glass shower, dual shower heads, a garden-view bay window, and an Italian porcelain sink. From the main kitchen, walk through the laundry corridor, with a front-loading washer and dryer, to the second kitchen and the staircase to the primary suite. This is also where the units can be divided for more autonomy. A banquette in a sunny corner of this efficient kitchen looks out to the raised backyard with turf and cafe table seating. Up the Spanish tile staircase, the primary suite, with a king-size bed, resides solely on the second floor. It is a striking, bright, and private escape. More Fleetwood, stacking doors open to a lengthy terrace with alluring ocean views. Such a lovely place from sunrise to sunset making this a spectacular and perch to begin and end the day. In split-level design, several steps lead down to the sunken primary bathroom. A dramatic, stunning copper bathtub takes center stage; a glass, walk-in shower and a dramatic trough-style sink in a custom vanity complete this luxurious bathroom. As is typical with many Santa Barbara homes, this property does not have AC. Open windows and the use of fans allow ocean breezes in to keep the house cool during hot summer months. Proximity to numerous Santa Barbara attractions makes this property ideal for those seeking to venture out and explore. Walk or bike to Cliff Drive on the Mesa, where numerous locally-owned restaurants with international twists offer everything from vegan fare, locally brewed ale, pizza, tapas... and burgers and fries! It is all there! Shoreline Park, Wilcox Preserve, Cabrillo Boulevard beaches, The Harbor, and Stearn's Wharf all offer superb outdoor fun nearby, or head downtown for shopping, fine dining, and after-hours hot spots!
