This private retreat offers peaceful seclusion, inviting you to disconnect, recharge, and immerse yourself in nature—whether you’re sipping coffee on the porch, exploring nearby trails, or simply soaking in the tranquil pond views.  
  
The Space:  
If you have your sights set on exploring the pond in the warmer months, the home conveniently offers a canoe and watersport items for you to take full advantage of the fresh Maine air and water. With its convenient location, the home serves as the perfect base for exploring all that Sanford and the surrounding area have to offer. Whether you're hiking through nearby state parks, exploring charming coastal towns, or simply unwinding in nature, you'll find endless possibilities for adventure and relaxation just moments away.  
  
Wood paneling throughout the home offers a warm and inviting vibe, surrounding spaces designed for relaxation and connection. You won’t mind preparing meals even while on vacation in the home’s open, brightly lit kitchen, well-equipped with full sized appliances and ample counterspace and cabinetry for food preparation and storage. The dining table can accommodate 6 for all meals formal or relaxed, as well as play host to a spontaneous night of games. Fire up the coffee maker first thing in the morning and take your freshly brewed cup out onto the deck, soaking in the sights and sounds of nature as you plan out the adventures of a brand-new day.  
  
This home comfortably sleeps 6 guests between 2 private bedrooms and a full size bed in a bonus room.  
  
Bedroom #1 includes a full size bed and deck access.  
  
Bedroom #2 doubles as the living room and includes a full size futon, TV, and deck access.  
  
The home’s full guest bathroom includes a single vanity and walk-in shower.

• This home does not offer laundry facilities.  
• Driveway parking available for 2 vehicles.

Sanford is a pleasant city in Southern Maine that has a lot to offer! Known for its historic buildings and scenic neighborhoods, the city has several walking trails through the historic and wooded areas, one such taking you through Sanford's downtown with its mill buildings, grand houses, and public buildings. There are many lakes in the area, which are perfect for swimming, fishing, and boating. There are also several hiking trails in the area, which offer stunning views of the surrounding countryside. When it comes to dining, Sanford has a variety of restaurants to choose, from casual eateries to fine dining establishments. No matter the reason for your visit, you’re sure to find something to love in Sanford!

The cottage is very nice. The kitchen was great. We needed a place for a last minute vacation for our family of 4 and this fit the bill. The setting is quiet. We were not able to spend any time on the pond but it looked very nice. We spent most of time at Gooch Beach in Kennebunk. The travel time to the beach was the only bummer but we knew this going in and it by no way reflects anything about the cottage. Fortunately the route to Gooch Beach avoids much of the heavy traffic on Rt1 in Wells so that made it more tolerable. Making the last minute vacation plans were quite easy and checkin/checkout were a breeze. All-in-all, we had a pleasant experience.

#### Cozy cabin in the woods

Pros: We enjoyed our stay. Although rustic, it was comfortable. Kitchen appliances, air conditioning, etc. worked. Plenty of cleaning supplies, paper towels and toilet paper, unlike some rentals where we had to buy supplies. Very quiet at night.Cons: Not one closet in the place, and nowhere to hang clothes except for 4 knobs hanging together in the kitchen, and no place in the bathroom to leave anything. There is plenty of room to add a few shelves.

This is a cute and cozy place, and we enjoyed our stay. The location on the pond and access to the canoe were the highlights for us; canoeing with the loons was magical (as was hearing the loons at night). Our only complaint was that the house had a pretty strong pet odor when we got there, and we found quite a bit of dog hair throughout the cabin, so I would hope the owners invest in a better cleaning service going forward
