Great Location!
The Iron Blosam is in a great location. It's not quite ski in/out but it's close enough. The walk to/from the slopes is about 3 minutes. When skiing in, there is a bridge that leads to a snowbank that Snowbird actually grooms for you. You can also choose to walk over to the Tram which is about a 6-7 minute walk. We skied Alta too while we were there and you can actually ski from the top of the Wildcat lift all the way to the Iron Blosam. The 8 person apartment itself was perfect for our reservation for 6. I would suspect 8 would get a little crowded since there isn't much space for the 4 people that sleep in the murphy bed and pull out couch in the living area to put their clothes and gear. The layout is good though and the kitchen and bar is a good size. The appliances are a bit outdated. The dishwasher needs to be replaced. The toaster was dead but the Iron Blosam front desk was quick to bring us a new working one. The Iron Blosam has free coffee every morning on the 2nd floor which was very convenient. The outdoor pool was super warm and the hot tub was very large. The game room for the kids had shuffle board, ping pong, air hockey, foosball (sp?). For first timers, like we were, we took a shuttle up from the airport which was great. No car needed once up at Snowbird. They have shuttles to bring you over to Alta for skiing, apre, or dinner. I've been a bit picky in my review to provide all the details but overall, we had an awesome stay. I would stay there again.
