This was a nice old pub in a quiet pretty town. We had a problem parking initially. We weren't sure how to get to the car park as there were road closures due to roadworks. The bar staff gave us directions - the roads were super narrow but we had free parking in a car park at the end of it. We had a clean comfortable room over the outdoor beer garden area. It was quiet though after 10pm. We had tea and coffee in our room with a kettle. The pub was very nicely set up for dinner although we were going out with friends and did not eat there. Breakfast had a lot of options. I asked if they had fresh fruit and the lady brought a plate with an apple, a pear and 4 huge strawberries on it. We had plenty to eat and drink. Very helpful and friendly staff. Room was very clean and had everything we needed. Gorgeous Mediaeval pub and garden. I would definitely say here to stay in sandwich, it’s a really lovely area.
