accueil charmant du personnel, dommage que les patrons sont execrablent avec ceux ci, l'hotel devait être beau a sa construction, dommage que l'entretiens laisse a desirer, et du coup cela tombe un peux en desuetude.. a notre arrive , un serpent( volant du paradis, inoffensif pour l'homme) d'environ un mètre rentre dans une chambre, pris en fotos par nos soins , les patrons nous explique que ca n'est pas grave.... du coup nuit pas trop reposante..... climatisation très très bruyante... lors de la commande d'un repas , erreur de plat , le patron a voulu nous faire payer les plats que nous n'avons pas eu....facture a contrôler systématiquement.

Perfect for those who want to stay close to the orang utan sanctuary..
This place is in the middle of the rainforest and very close to the orang utan sanctuary..;about three minutes walk.....the hotel looks like a very nice tropical garden, the rooms are not really nice but it is decent and ok...the swimming pool area is a little bit like Disneyland even though it is pleasant after a day with the monkeys to spend two hours there..;the poolwater is far too hot, absoluteley not refreshing! The girls at the reception are quite nice but what we really did not like is the food in the restaurant and also the breakfast....they only serve very 'bad' chinese food and those who expect delicious malaysian food will be very dissapointed...(even though I know that a big part of the malaysians are of chinese origin) I recommend to all people staying at the hotel to have dinner only once as the setting of the restaurant is lovely in the tropical garden, but the food is horrible and ONLY chinese.....rather take a bus or cab to Sandakan which is 25km away and has plenty of good restaurants WHERE YOU CAN MEET LOCALS !

Nothing much around here. Conveniently near the Orangutan and Sunbear sanctuaries. The staff at the front desk were sometimes helpful. The restaurant staff were less so. The WIFI for the rooms is terrible.

感覺就是住進了熱帶雨林，整個渡假村看似全是以木來建造的，而建在水塘面上的木橋就是用來連接餐廳與不同區域的房間。只要走在橋上，或者坐在餐廳，不論是早午晚，都有機會看見不同的雀鳥出現。 餐廳食物款式不算太多，但味道美，份量大，價格合理。 渡假村亦有為我們安排夜探雨林，導遊(lok)非常專業，能在漆黑的雨林裏找到住在林裏面的動物。 遺憾的是這幾天每日有部分時間下着暴雨，所以能看到的雀鳥數量很少，希望下次再去時天氣好些

We loved it here. I was really worried about bugs, but there was no need. Everything was so nice and clean. Bonus was a good restaurant. The grounds were beautiful.

They didn't have our room ready until 5pm, the electric heater wasn't working and neither was the kettle. The staff didn't solve any of these problems. The rate they give to change euro into ringits is very low (4,2). Breakfast is very poor.

En general estancia agradable y muy buena ubicación cerca de los santuarios de orangutante y osos y del Rainforest Discovery Centre. Baño muy mejorable, habitación requiere una reforma urgente, restaurante muy caro aprovechándose de la localización (eran más baratas las bebidas en los Lodges de la selva del Kinabatangan...).

Great value in Sepilok
Stayed for 3 nights at the Seilok Jungle Resort and had a really good time. Staff are friendly and helpful and the hotel has the best location for visiting the attractions in Sepilok. Our room was comfortable, although mosquito nets for the beds would have been good, as there is plenty of wildlife onsite! Breakfast was substantial and the onsite restaurant offers a good range of options for evening meal. The pool is a bonus and very welcome after a hot day in the rainforest. Value for money is excellent, making this a great option for a stay in Sepilok.

Orangutan sanctuary and sun bear sanctuary were in walking distance from our resort, which was great. It allowed us to spend the whole day there. A must place to stay to see the orangutans.

Entsprichtt einer 1* Unterkunft. Erhielten kein Deluxe-Zimmer obwohl ei solches gebucht und bezahlt. Nach Nachfrage war dises ein solches da mit Balkon. Alle Zimmer hatten aber ein Balkon und die Deluxe-Zimmer waren in einem anderen Gebäudekomplex!!! Gein Gepaeck-Service, Zimmer über zahlreiche Treppen erreichbar!

Lovely setting, crossing bridges over ponds to get to rooms but an alternative route can be taken if you have suitcases. All staff were friendly and helpful. So close to the orangutan and sunbear sanctuary. Lovely meals at good prices.

Great value hotel.
This is a great value hotel, it’s a little tired around the edges and needs some updating, but the staff and service more than make up for this. I read some reviews about the food not being so good but we found it lovely particularly the traditional Malaysian food, who wants chicken nuggets anyway in Borneo!!! There is loads of wildlife to see in the grounds alone and lots to do in the area. We stayed 4 days and did everything we wanted as well as some downtime round the pool (which does need some updating/maintenance).

Amazing Stay. Highly Recommend
The hotel is very nice for a jungle resort and the rooms are cleaned daily. We stayed in one of the superior rooms and the A/C worked very well. The food is excellent at the hotel and they have beer and wine too. Service is amazing and we even saw monkeys on the property in the middle of the day. Pool is nice when it’s not raining and it’s an easy walk to the orangutan and sun bear sanctuaries. The wifi is also surprisingly very fast, I was getting 60-80mb on average. Definitely would recommend this place.

I don't want to go home!
This is the place to stay in Sepilok if you are after accommodation that is the closest to the local culture and nature. While the resort is definitely showing its age, out of the 3 resorts within a couple of minutes walking distance of the Orangutan and Sun Bears, this is the most down to earth. I found the adjoining resorts to be more catered to Western tastes and comforts where as SJR is more grass roots. The resort grounds are beautiful and are engulfed by the forest providing an immersive experience while not sacrificing on general comforts. Plenty of wildlife occupies the grounds with monitor lizards, snakes, geckos / skinks and a broad range of bird life seen. The age of the resort and its condition add to the natural feel and this is the only resort with a decent pool (one other resort has what I would call a wading pool). The staff keep the pool area and water remarkably clean and the pool was larger than photos may indicate. Meals at the resort cater to both local and Western cuisine and are priced very reasonably with enough variety to feed us happily for 6 nights. At the time of our stay the resort appeared to be very much impacted by the slow return to normal after COVID (Sep 2022) and the poolside Cafe was not operational however, the Banana Cafe was a a great communal area to engage with 'pet' turtles and fish and share a laugh with fellow travellers. Staff are warm and good natured and accommodating. Recommend a deluxe room with balcony.

El resort tiene un jardín muy grande con pequeño lago y se puede pasear escuchando los ruidos muy especiales de la Jungla cercana. Las habitaciones son muy bâsicos pero tienen aire acondicionado y son limpias. El desayuno es muy básico pero el restaueante ofrece buena variedad de platos. Su punto más fuerte es su cercania al centro de los orang outanes, los osos y el Rainforest Discovery Centre.

Op prachtige locatie in de natuur een resort om even te onthaasten. Heerlijk zwembad en het restaurant is basic maar van prima kwaliteit. Kamers zijn schoon en bedden van fijne kwaliteit. Badkamer is eenvoudig maar warm water en schone handdoeken. Op loopafstand van de beren en orang oetang opvang. Prima plek om verder de regio te verkennen of om bij te komen van andere avonturen op Borneo

Perfect location and a fabulous pool
We really liked this resort and the location was perfect right next to the fabulous Orang Utan and Sun Bear rehabilitation centres as well as just a short walk to the equally interesting rain forest discovery centre. Quiet if slightly tired, spacious rooms and restaurant set in wonderful gardens, great breakfast and service throughout. Absolutely loved the pool, close your eyes and it felt like a wild swim in the jungle. Would recommend,

Mkt. Solig standard på toaletten, inget kyl på rummet, dricka ljummet vatten i tropiskt värme eller inte kunna ha lite kala dricker i kylen ingen hit! Sen ville de att man köper en adapter för 20 ringgit. Ner jsg sade att jag har fått låna på de andra hotellen och att jsg Bill lämna deposition om 20 rigitt men inte köpa, då fick jag låna en! Frukosten glr dålig. Vitt, tunt bröd, grön kokta äg, vita bönor och torra nudlar! Vattnig kaffe och ngn blandskog saft dom de kallade juice av ngn. frukt! Annars miljon var kätte härlig och det va avkopplande att vars där. Det är Iran Gutan och Sun bests rehab. centra är intressant att besöka! Fördel med pool! Rekommenderar, men man få stå på sig md vissa saker. Sen om du reder ensam betslar du frukost flr två! Nackdel! Flr att du har dubbelsäng, även om du reser ensam resenär i rutan kommer det att du har bokat ett rum för två personer! Inte acceptabelt!

Even though the rooms are a little dated they are quite spacious and comfortable, the pool is great however the chairs are quite worn. The staff are very nice and helpful. In general we found it a good value for the money.

Loved the location and the whole feeling of being surrounded by nature. Would definitely recommend it. Didn't like that the tours on your little brochure had supplements for single travellers. If the tour is going anyway why charge extra for a single person? I felt it is a total con.

Beautiful surroundings and excellent location for sepilok orangutan rehabilitation centre and sunbear centre. Unique setting in the jungle and comfortable rooms. Easy check in and friendly staff. Would definitely recommend!

Staying here was a great experience as we were surrounded by jungle with boardwalks to the cafe where we could buy inexpensive, simple meals and take our breakfast. Simple rooms that suited the environment. Serviced to a high standard each day. Very helpful staff. It was relaxed and perfect for experiencing the Sabah jungle and very close to the Sepilok orangutan rehabilitation centre and sun bear sanctuary. We had a great few days.
