These two pretty stone cottages with pool, offered together, with private use of facilities are located on a high meadow overlooking the beautiful garfagnana valley and the apuan alps, about 2km from the mediaeval village of s. Romano.  
The grounds are vast, fully fenced and flat, ideal for children to play, for your morning jog and for your dog... A rarity in the Garfagnana  
  
The cottages have retained original features giving a real country feel to your stay!  
  
There are beamed ceilings in most rooms, traditional cotto flooring, chestnut windows, and some exposed stone internal walls.  
  
This combined with modern comforts such as fully equipped kitchens including dishwashers, DVD players, WIFI and a pool.  
  
Each cottage has its own private shaded outdoor dining facilities including BBQ but the site is also ideal for two families to hire together, giving a sense of privacy but also plenty of space to be together.  
  
Cottage A:  
3 bedrooms - 1 double and two twins,2 shower rooms, living room with comfy seating, fireplace, TV, DVD and WIFI.  
The kitchen is well equipped with oven, hob, microwave, fridge/freezer and dishwasher.  
Cottage B:  
3 bedrooms - 1 double and two twins, 2 shower rooms, living room with comfy seating, fireplace, TV, DVD and WIFI.

Outside there is a huge shared garden with plenty of flat space, wonderful views and a private pool (10m x 5m ).

A little about location:  
  
The property is situated 2 km from the village of San Romano, which has a bar, and small supermarket. Further afield is the town of Castelnuovo which is a 15 minute drive, and has all facilities – bars, restaurants, shops, supermarkets, famous Thursday morning market.  
The house is also just a couple of kms from Camporgiano which has a couple of bars, some restaurants, supermarket, castle, station etc.  
There is also a lovely riverside restaurant within walking distance too!  
There are further large villages closer than town such as Piazza Al Serchio which has supermakets, restaurants, and a main line train station for when one wishes to explore without the car.  
The mediaeval town of Barga is just 30 minutes away. Pisa is an hour and 30 min drive, Florence 2 hrs, and the breathtaking medieaval walled city of Lucca just under an hours drive.  
All in all a perfect mix of rural retreat, with a mere 10-minute drive taking you up into the mountains, and the Natural Park of Orecchiella for wonderful walking, unusual wildlife and rare fauna; bocce and cheese throwing, but also a good base for exploring the towns of the area.

NB pricing for 1st two weeks of July 2021 have been adjusted to give discount for 6 guests or less - for using one cottage with the other closed off so you still have privacy

Ideale Aufteilung für Einzelfamilien gegeben, da zwei Häuser vorhanden sind. Sehr liebevoll eingerichtete Häuser mit toller Einrichtung. Fantastischer Pool, jedoch nur für Schwimmer geeignet. Sehr nette Gastgeber. Ideales Grundstück zum Spielen für Kinder, sehr große und gut gepflegte Rasenfläche.

#### Beautiful place

Lama Piana was a great place to stay. We were two families (4 adults and 6 kids) staying for 10 days. It was very spacious. The houses were clean and had towels and linnen provided. There were both washing maschine and dish washer. There were a big garden for the kids to play soccer. The swimmingpool was great with an outdoor shower and sunbeds. The pool was approximately 150 cm deep. Wild guess 5 x 11 meters. The host Eduardo was very friendly and helpful, and easy to get in touch with when needed. Lama Piana is in the countryside, but close to several local villages. Also just a 1-2 hours drive to Lucca, Pisa, Firenze and La Spezia/Sinque Terre.

#### Super netter Gastgeber

Unser Aufenthalt war sehr schön, wir hatten leider die ersten paar Tage Regen, dafür kann natürlich niemand etwas, schade war nur das wir nicht draußen sitzen konnten, die Vordächer beider Häuser waren nicht dicht Sodas alles nass wurde. Schade fanden wir auch das in der Beschreibung nicht stand das der Gastgeber auf dem selben Grundstück wohnt, dies haben wir erst später bei den Bewertungen gelesen. Wir hatten erst bedenken, da wir 3 Hunde dabei hatten und der Gastgeber auch ein Hund hatte. Der Hund Titto (hoffe das ich den Namen richtig geschrieben habe) ist so ein lieber und folgsamer Hund, er kennt seine Grenzen, sodass unsere Bedenken grundlos waren. Zum Gastgeber kann ich nur sagen, das wir ihn kaum bemerkt haben, ein wirklich sehr netter junger Mann. Das Haus und das Grundstück sind sehr sauber, auch die ganzen Gegenstände in der Küche waren sehr sauber. Die letzten 30km zum Haus verlaufen sehr kurvig und die Straße ist ziemlich eng, aber es hat sich gelohnt. Vielen herzlichen Dank!

#### An August week at Lama Piana

We had a wonderful time staying at Lama Piana with our son and three grandchildren. The pool was a great asset given the very hot weather. We enjoyed most: days out in Lucca, the mountain drive to the beach at Forte dei Marmi and two good evening meals on the terrace at Il Grotto at nearby La Villetata.

#### Schönes Anwesen in der Garfagnana

Sehr schönes Anwesen in der Garfagnana. Viel Platz für größere Gruppen. Das Anwesen liegt etwas abseits der üblichen Touristenplätze, d.h. Die Anfahrt nach Lucca, Florenz etc. nimmt etwas Zeit in Anspruch. Wer es aber eher ländlich und ruhig mag, für den ist es perfekt.

#### Sommerurlaub mit Freunden

Gut geeignetes Objekt für mindestens 12 Personen. Abgelegen, ruhig, großer Pool und sehr schöner Garten. Sehr freundlicher Vermieter der in einem Haus auf dem Grundstück lebt, sich aber nicht durch Gruppen gestört fühlt. Genügend Sitzgelegenheiten im Freien. Alles in allem ein sehr gutes Objekt für einen Gruppenurlaub mit Freunden oder für Familien.

#### Fantastisches Ferienobjekt

Tolle, parkähnliche Anlage. Beide Häuser rustikal eingerichtet, passt aber hervorragend zum Steinhausstil. Grosser sauberer Pool. Vermieter vor Ort. Total hilfsbereit, bei einem Problem sofort zur Hilfe. In einem Haus war Spülmaschine defekt, 2 Tage später war neue eingebaut. An den Mülltonnen hatte sich Wespennest gebildet. 1 Stunde nach Nachricht an Vermieter war es entfernt. Kommunikation mit Vermieter mündlich und über WhatsApp sehr unproblematisch. Einfaches Englisch kein Problem. Sehr netter junger Mann. Wir haben dort einen tollen Urlaub verbracht, 2 Familien mit jeweils 2 Kindern im Alter von 5 bis 7 Jahren.

#### A fantastic week

We had a wonderful stay in Lama Piana. Houses with enough space for all of us! 6 adults and 8 kids!! Spacious, clean and fantastic pool and garden - we loved staying in Lama Piana! Best regards 3 family from Sweden

#### Traumhaft

Wir waren zwei Familien mit Kindern im Alter von 10 bis 15 Jahren und haben uns sehr wohl gefühlt in Lama Piana. Das Gelände ist herrlich, die Kinder hatten viel Platz zum Toben. Alle haben den tollen Pool sehr genossen.

#### Dejligt sted med god pool

Overordnet et dejligt sted, men det er ikke muligt at gå til spisesteder, som beskrivelsen af stedet siger. Det er kun muligt med bil.

#### Sehr schöne Anlage

Die beiden Häuser sind sehr gut eingerichtet und sauber geputzt. Besonders gefallen hat uns die grosszügige Grünfläche zum Spielen und natürlich der Pool. Die Anlage ist ideal für 2 Familien oder wie in unserem Fall, Familienferien mit drei Generationen. Der Pool wurde mehrmals von Eduardo von Blättern gereinigt, die Besitzerfamilie hat sich super um uns gekümmert. Einkaufsmöglichkeiten in 5 Minuten Fahrzeit, für Ausflüge ist man auf ein Auto angewiesen. Wir können die Unterkunft ohne Vorbehalte weiterempfehlen.
