I’d read that the rooms were a bit dated, but it was rundown in aspects as well. The window in our bathroom had a broken hinge, the towels were old and tattered, the faucet discoloured, but the worst part was the bugs in the room. There was an ant (?) infestation - they’d burrowed a few holes into the bathroom doorframe and they were coming in and out of them and we found them in various places around the room. There were other various bugs we found over the three nights, so never felt settled. I know this is a tropical area, but we didn’t encounter this to this degree elsewhere. That said, the staff were very nice and when we went to the front desk about the ants they came and sprayed the room. Unfortunately, we still found stragglers and other new bugs during the rest of our stay. The hotel is within walking distance to a beach, but we ultimately preferred other beaches with vendors and amenities, which required a drive either to Carrillo or central Samara. From arrival, the lack of a proper check-in process was concerning. There was no real reception, no structured welcome, and no meaningful ID verification. From a basic guest security standpoint, that is unacceptable and immediately undermined confidence. The Deluxe Double Room was in poor condition. We arrived to find it full of flies. The outdoor concrete slab was severely cracked, the interior walls were cracked, and the plastic wall behind the bed was old, worn, and dirty. The bathroom was also badly designed: the shower drain was clogged, the shower was not properly enclosed so water spilled everywhere, and the shower head was installed too close to the furniture. The room sealing and sound insulation were also very poor. Geckos got into the room through gaps in the walls, and at night we could hear music from downtown and people walking on the floor above us, making rest difficult. The pool was consistently dirty and appeared poorly maintained. Overall, Casa Nahua felt neglected, poorly managed, and misleading relative to its online presentation. I would not recommend it." At the front desk of the hotel Diego, Donovan and Josue always were there to help with any and everything.
