Well-decorated, spacious, in a great part of town! Unfortunately there was a power outage in all of old SJ which meant all the stores & restaurants shut down at 430 PM and we were without power until early morning hours. It was hot without any light or food. We couldn’t leave as our car was in a parking garage with an automated gate. The host was friendly on the phone and offered us a full refund which we accepted. However, we have yet to see it, 5 months later. They’ve sent validating responses to our inquiries with promises of same-day resolution and escalation to management without any follow-through. Ultimately they claimed we were taking advantage of them and misrepresenting. VRBO stepped in and graciously refunded us when the host didn’t respond to them. VRBO reports their policy is to fully refund and rebook any stay in a power outage. I recommend you make sure to have matches if you stay here as the house is not stocked with emergency lights but does have candles. I wouldn’t book with this host in the future.
