The Home 🏡 Welcome to the newly remodeled Jamaica Beach Cottage, a cozy 2-bedroom, 1.5-bathroom beach retreat that blends classic craftsman architecture with modern touches. Perfect for couples or families, this hidden gem is just a 1-minute walk from Mission Beach and the boardwalk, and a 2-minute walk to Mission Bay. Enjoy the beach vibe with mornings on the outdoor deck featuring a fire pit, BBQ, and dining area, as well as sunning in chaise lounges. Inside, you’ll find a large kitchen, a cozy fireplace, and ceiling fans throughout. The home also has A/C to keep you comfortable on warmer days. For larger groups, there’s an additional property on the lot, Roswitha’s Hideaway, offering extra space. Mission Beach Policies & What to Expect Arrival/Departure Policy: Check in time is 3 pm and strictly enforced. (From Memorial Day weekend through Labor Day, check-in is at 4pm) Check out time is 11 am. Please follow all instructions for your arrival and departure in our email and phone call correspondence. There is signage around the home to assist with the use of amenities and questions that you may have during your stay. We are available too, even after hours-give us a call! Nightly Minimum Policy: 2 night minimum required in the off season. 6 nights AND a Saturday Check-in is REQUIRED during peak season (June - August). Arrival on Friday or Sunday instead may be an option. (Please inquire if your group needs accommodations that are different as we may be able to accommodate you!) ☀️ Holiday 2025 Policy: 6 night minimum AND Saturday check-in is REQUIRED during our holiday season (December 20-January 3). One reservation CANNOT take both holidays, unless it is a 2-week reservation. There are no arrivals OR departures on Christmas or New Year's Day. \*An arrival on a Friday or Sunday may be possible, please inquire if your group needs accommodations that are different as we may be able to accommodate you! ☀️ Summer 2025 Policy: Beginning Memorial Day to Labor Day, Saturday to Saturday is required with 6-7 night reservations. On July 4th 2025, check-in or check-out is NOT permitted. An arrival on a Friday or Sunday may be possible, please inquire if your group needs accommodations that are different as we may be able to accommodate you. Last Minute Booking Policy: If a guest books with us directly or on any OTA such as Airbnb and VRBO, within 72 hours of arrival, verification credentials are required. By making a payment on the reservation, the guest agrees to comply with our last minute booking policy. To properly vet a guest with such short notice requires the following; a “selfie” photo specifically of the booking guest’s face and holding either a Driver’s License, Passport or State ID photo under their chin. We are just looking for a name to match and the photo on the ID to match that of the person in the selfie. This can be sent by email or text to our company email address. Additionally, we need to confirm guest details such as payment, contact information, applicable check-in time, number of guests and ages, any pets, etc. This process is required, and if a guest refuses to comply then the reservation will be canceled. We have found this procedure to be successful in avoiding fraud, and protecting all parties! We appreciate your cooperation and we are available to help with any questions. 🐾 Pet Policy: Pets are NOT permitted at this property. Rate Policy: Prices change on a daily basis so the rates you see today may be higher or lower when booking! Age Policy: We do not typically rent to guests under the age of 25 or large parties. Please contact us prior to booking to see how we may accommodate your group. After booking: We manage properties on behalf of our owners. Upon confirming your booking, we will send you a rental agreement for your upcoming stay which you will need to complete. This agreement reviews our terms and conditions, house rules and policies, and what to expect of your stay. We will also contact you within 24 hours of the booking to obtain contact information and to address any questions or concerns you may have regarding your upcoming visit. The check-in details will not be shared until the rental agreement has been signed, payment has been made, and the guest has connected with one of our guest services agents. In addition to completing our electronic rental agreement, you will also be required to participate in our identity verification process. The Verify Hub service is offered through Autohost; an intelligent guest screening software that automates ID verifications, background and credit checks, security deposits and more, helping to improve guest experience and safety. The TV and internet are spot on, the kitchen is stocked, the beds are comfortable, the shower is amazing, the patio is perfect for hanging and having a drink and sitting by the outdoor fire pit, the beach toys and chairs they provide will meet all your needs, and the house is located to many restaurants and bars. I am 6’2” 213 lbs and I am always worried about seating comfort at night to be able to watch movies. This house has a great size and comfortable couch for the family to use and the chair in the room is a recliner that fit me perfect. I’m telling you this is the property to rent!!! The one worry we had before going was parking and that the garage space maybe to small but we easily fit our Hyundai Palisade in the garage which is a big full size SUV. So trust me your automobile will fit in the garage and you will have no issues. This is the first house we have rented where I can truly say it deserves more than 5 stars. We will be renting this place again in the future for sure. We were sad to come home but truly blessed that we had a week in this house. ##### Ron S. The beds were comfortable, the kitchen wsa stocked and the outside area was pristine! The garage space is amazing and will fit a larger vehicle. It was pouring rain when we left and we were struggling to get everything out to the cars. The housekeeper said we could park under the garage overhang to load our things and even helped us get our wagon undercover. I would say my only dislike was not having window coverings on the kitchen windows. They face the side allyway and people walk through there at all hours to cut across the yard. It was a little scary seeing faces walking by and looking into the window late at night. Our favorite was the patio area!! Very clean and lots of extra blankets and throws in the sectional's storage area, so we were cozy. We also liked the electric fireplace. Restaurants, gelato, coffee and more were only a few blocks away. The garage was a bit tight but we rented a Nissan Rogue and it fit. Tight parking spots looked to be the rule rather than the exception in the area, which makes sense based on its proximity to the beach. We'd stay there again certainly. ##### Priscilla R. Very clean, beds were super comfortable, plenty of pillows, A/C, lots of pots and pans to cook with, and the couch was comfortable as well. The outside shower is a must to get all the sand of you and your kids. Two bathrooms was a nice plus. The house itself offers the bare minimum in amenities but gave us a decent place to stay while visiting San Diego. We were grateful for a garage to park the car, a cute patio to enjoy the thoroughfare and being able to walk to the beach and Belmont Park. There is a musty/mildew smell in the kitchen and the bathroom could use some updates but overall it offered what was needed in terms of beds and basics to get by while in town. A neighboring house had a raging party one night and not faulting this home, just comes with the neighborhood but just wanted to mention it. ##### Sarah B. When we arrived there unfortunately was a strong mold odor when opening the door. So close to the beach this may be common but it was more than we would have preferred. We opened windows and turned on fans and either that helped on we got used to the odor. We called the first day about the bathroom drain and exhaust fan issue and although there were attempts on calls back to us and us agreeing that maintenance could enter when we were not there, no one ever came to remedy the situation. Because of the great location we would love to give higher marks, the issues we encountered made it tough to do so. Definitely a location for a family of 4 or less, small but doable. ##### Caren B. It does have a garage that fit out Honda Pilot. I would not recommend for a family w 2 teenagers like we had. The patio is great w a grill, but w dated furniture. It is run by a rental company so anytime you have an issue you have to make a call which is not something you want to do on your vacation. It needs a few more items to make it a little easier to manage plus the trash/recycling for this area is a mess. Great location, very close to to the beach & Belmont which our kids love.
