En revanche, les chambres standard sont minuscules et très peu pratiques. Il y a à peine la place de poser une valise entre le lit et le mur, et il faut donc enjamber ses bagages pour circuler dans la chambre! We stayed one night, and it was the perfect place for us. We enjoyed walking the streets, hiking up to the amazing views on the ridge/mountain above the old city, visiting churches and museums, and eating delicious food. The room was comfortable and snug, and the staff was friendly and helpful. The breakfast was so delicious. We had a superior room that was large and also had a sofa as well as a large bed. The bathroom was large too. Although the room was only on the 2nd floor and facing the road it was very quiet. The air con was a bonus too. The staff were all excellent and very friendly and helpful. My only minor critisism was that the hot food at breakfast was often only lukewarm but generally the breakfast was ok. Grad um die Ecke ist Mozarts Geburtshaus und auch der Salzburger Dom. Das ist allerdings auch mit Lärmbelästigung in der Nacht verbunden. Durch die engen Gassen hallt es besonders laut, wenn nachts die Leute herum grölen. Das Fenster sollte man daher besser schließen. Das Personal ist sehr freundlich. Die Zimmer sind sauber, aber auch sehr klein. Wenn man allerdings wie wir nur zum Schlafen im Zimmer ist, geht es. Die Matratzen sind bequem. Das Frühstück war ausreichend und gut, wenn auch nicht überragend. Das angeschlossene Restaurant bietet gute Speisen zu einem fairen Preis. Booked thie Hotel Elefant in Salzburg and was very pleased with the hotel. The location is excellent, right in the center of the old city in the foot traffic only area. The Hotel is nice and the view from our room was great-a very nice view of the Salzburg Castle. The breakfast was very good. If you are arriving by car, it is a few block walk to the nearest parking garage. (It's longer than the 5 mins, especially when you drag roller luggage over cobblestone.) However, once you arrive it's all worth it. The hotel is charming and fashionable, clean and comfortable, and is in a perfect location. I appreciated all the little extras worked in the furnishings of the rooms; side tables with reading lamps, hidden drawers, etc... Even the hallways were well decorated and comfortable! Two choices for inhouse restaurants.
