Enjoy tranquility in the heart of the unspoiled Morvan countryside, nestled on the slopes of the famous Mont Beuvray, an 821m viewpoint offering extraordinary views (as far as Mont Blanc!). Its summit is occupied by the renowned oppidum of Bibracte, an ancient fortified Gallic town, one of the best preserved, with its ramparts and districts extending over 200 hectares (designated a "Grand Site de France"). Perched on a sunny plateau, in the heart of a remarkable protected site (ZNIEFF & "Natura 2000"), bordering the verdant Méchet Valley and the Haut Folin, the highest peak in Burgundy (901m), the village enjoys a magnificent, unspoiled rural setting in the gentle mountains. The cottage offers excellent comfort. Its warm, rustic charm, with contemporary touches, is enhanced by the character of a historic home (stone fireplace mantel, exposed beams, stone walls with a manger and hay rack). Full of charm, it's cozy and comfortable. A large, sunny balcony-terrace opens onto a pleasant enclosed garden, overlooked by a spacious panoramic terrace offering beautiful, unobstructed views of the surrounding countryside. Composition: Detached house with outbuilding. The cottage is on two levels (accessed via an external staircase). Wi-Fi (fiber optic). Electric heating + wood-burning stove. First floor: living room/kitchen/lounge, shower room, separate WC. Second floor: 3 bedrooms (one with a 160x200cm double bed and the other with two 80x190cm single beds arranged in two sets of two pull-out beds), including one independent bedroom in an annex with external access (160x200cm double bed) and a private shower room (shower/WC). Charming authentic Morvan farmhouse with character dating from the 19th century attached to an old "stable" annex, both carefully restored - with a pleasant enclosed garden with panoramic terrace - located in the quiet heart of the picturesque village of Saint-Léger-sous-Beuvray (small shops on site), 6 km from the prestigious Gallo-Roman archaeological site of Bibracte labeled "Grand Site de France" & 11 km from the market town of Etang-sur-Arroux (numerous amenities including supermarket). Superb rural & natural surroundings perfectly preserved gentle mountain setting, combining vast hedgerows, rivers, ponds & deep wild forests, nestled on the slopes of the famous Mont-Beuvray (magnificent forest site classified & protected in "Natura 2000 Zone" & ZNIEFF for its rich ecosystems) on the southern slope of the Morvan massif. An exceptionally privileged location near the Romanesque churches circuit, ideally situated on numerous marked hiking trails designated as "green walks" (a very extensive network of similar hiking and mountain biking trails in the area), the "Cycloroute71" (Tour of Saône-et-Loire by bike), the legendary GTMC mountain bike route (Grande Traversée du Massif Central), and a 28km "favorite" cycling loop, 500m from the GR131 which connects to the nearby GR13 and the renowned GRP "Tour du Morvan", 18km from the "Morvan to Vineyards" Green Way, 21km from an all-terrain Green Way (green mountain biking), and about 40km from the first vineyards of the Couchois region (Côtes Chalonnaises / bordering the famous Côtes de Beaune & Hautes Côtes de Beaune) and the "Route des The "Grands Vins" wine route is extended by the illustrious "Route des Grands Crus" (crossing the mythical wine villages of Puligny-Montrachet, Pommard, Meursault, etc.).
