Embark on your own "Walden Pond" adventure and be at one with nature amidst 44 private acres of serene woods with its own river running through it! You will really love it right now! Roads are always clear. Easy 20-minute drive to the Mayo Clinic. Each season brings its own magic: the fiery colors in fall, crunching through snow in the winter, new life in spring and sports and activities in the summer! The 2000 s.f. log home known as 'The Bungalow" offers a romantic fireplace, 3 bedrooms, 2 baths, office/bedroom + huge entertainment room. The home is completely equipped with a full kitchen including a dishwasher. Hostess readily available. Enjoy complete privacy after a busy day, hang with friends or family, check on horseback riding at nearby Ironwoodsprings.com. Miles of marked hiking trails along the river. Check with host for special rates for 30 days or more.

The wooded acreage was beautiful with trails and river vistas to enjoy. The yard, patio, front porch, fire ring, fire wood, and grill were ours to use at will. The rooms themselves were comfortable and well kept. We greatly enjoyed our stay, and you will not find a more helpful and communicative host than Barb. We highly recommend the Bungalow!

Check in was easy. We parked a car in the very clean garage. Kitchen had everything we needed. Barb got back to us quickly with a question. The area is quiet and private with places to sit outdoors. You could see a horse next door at its stable. The area is beautiful and close to Rochester with its many good restaurants.

Bungalow review

Efficient check-in. I received a detailed message via VRBO from owner a few days before arrival. The email contained all the information regarding the rental and surrounding area. The directions to the rental made it easy to find. This rental is handicapped accessible with no entry stairs, first floor bedroom and bathroom with easy shower entry. We enjoyed sitting on the deck and enjoying the quiet seclusion.

Lovely Place with Space for Activities

We stayed here for a Girls Getaway, my mom and the three of us sisters. The VRBO was lovely inside and out and functional for all our activities. My mom uses a walker and the floors were level making it easy to get around. A couple days it was raining and storming, so we appreciated the use of the garage and that the VRBO manager kept us informed during the tornado warning. We also liked the central location between Rochester and Lanesboro.

Nice getaway!

The Bungalow was just what our family needed, a few days away from the hustle and bustle. Really enjoyed the trails (went for walks at least twice a day) and the loft, for hanging out. Would stay again.

Peaceful nature

We had a wonderful stay and the dogs loved the trails in the woods. Chocolate, the neighbor’s horse was a sweetheart, as was Zippy the other neighbor’s dog! The space was great and we enjoyed having the loft to puzzle in and watch movies. We will be back:)

Last minute pivot because family got sick. We found this lovely spot for our family of 5 and 2 mini dachshunds. So comfortable and spacious! We had a great Christmas at the Bungalow by the fire!

Great weekend getaway with friends.

We were looking for a place for friends to meet for a weekend get-together. This place was perfect for us! The wooded setting was very nice and the house is still close enough to town to make things very convenient.

Beautiful Setting

Stayed 3 weeks. It was wonderful. Especially liked the trails for hiking with our dog. It was close to Rochester and Stewartville had a nice grocery called Fareway. Also had a good place for pizza called 2 Brothers. My son liked the proximity to Anytime Fitness too.

Location, Location

Great location, wonderful stay, So nice to be able to leave Mayo Clinic, and escape to a secluded hideaway. This is our second visit. Barb our host is a pleasure to work with. Would enjoy a return visit.
