"Lacronan is of course a treasure, and, perhaps not unsurpisingly, is determined to keep cars out, even though there is a small hotel car park available for a few fortunate guests. Our route to the hotel, which is perhaps 200 metres from the central square, was barred by ongoing work to pedestrianise the area immediately adjacent to the hotel. "Beware if you are a non smoker. Lovely lunch in the conservatory (what they call a pagoda) a bright and sunny room with lovely sea views but it was fully enclosed with no opening windows only doors which were closed from the wind and the staff use the lounge area in it when they have a break and smoke there. With no ventilation and several smokers sat around the room soon filled with smoke, unpleasant whilst we were eating. We moved into the bar but the doors from the pagoda had been wedged open so the bar was smoky too. The smell of stale smoke was still in the reception and bar area the next morning, we did not venture into the pagoda again. Apparently they open it up in the summer but would still be smoky even then. Such a shame as plenty of tables and chairs outside that smokers could use, it was just too cold for us to eat lunch outside. We do accept that people smoke. Otherwise a beautiful hotel, the views from the bedrooms were lovely and well appointed with tea making facilities except milk which when we asked for some milk we were charged EUR2.50 for. No heating in the bathroom so the towels stayed wet but a lovely bathroom but with shower only, no bath. Food was good but menu a bit limited if you don't eat oysters and does not change at all and same menu lunch time and evening. Very limited street parking but apparently they do have a car park but a fair walk away we were told when we asked. First impression was brilliant but overall could improve."

"Parking is off site, free and 5 min walk away. Sea view suite was clean, bed comfortable, fluffy towels, outdoor jacuzzi was good but the cover didn't fit, carpet was tired and need of replacement. Spa, be prepared both men and women are required to wear swimming caps! Spa is not a 5 star, tired, rusty in places, sauna was ok but not very hot. Restaurant staff, dinner and cocktails were excellent."

"This is a well situated, picturesque Breton farm house. Great location for exploring the reigons coastline, its beautiful beaches and stunning historic towns. The house is within an 8 min drive to the beach. It is surrounded by a huge garden that our children loved to explore and lose themselves in. The house is equipped with just the basics so be sure to bring your own towels, soap, washing up equipment etc. We loved having dinner in the garden. Great for our summer stay."

"Absolutely loved our stay at Carolyn & Graham’s lovely gite. It was the perfect size for the two of us and our Labrador who loved running in the extremely private garden. A bottle of wine on arrival was very welcome, as was Sky TV with English channels. The gite is in a perfect area to explore the Western part of Brittany, Huelgoat, the nearest town is well equipped with an Intermarche supermarket, pharmacy and a few nice restaurants. Many thanks again to Carolyn & Graham for their lovely welcome and local information, we would visit again in a heartbeat and have no reserves at all in recommending the gite to anyone."
