Step out of your Eco-friendly villa and relax! The turquoise sea and countryside are your view. Relax with a soft drink or cocktail at the pool which is steps from your door, or on your private patio or balcony.
Staying on the East end has gotten so much easier with the new main road! Traveling from the airport or exploring the island, the newly paved road, has made a huge difference!
Logistically, our entire property consists of the main house where the owners reside with our 3 dogs. The Boathouse (which sleeps 2) (VRBO #3263136), and your villa. Which sleeps up 4 people. PLEASE NOTE, ONLY REGISTERED GUESTS ARE ALLOWED AT THE POOL OR IN THE RENTAL. ADDITIONAL VISITORS ARE STRICTLY PROHIBIITED.
We invite all our guests to enjoy our 30-foot-long swimming pool, sun patio, and covered seating area as well as complimentary use of our kayaks & paddle board & Gas grill.
Because we are small, crowds at the pool are never a problem.
The villa comfortably sleeps up to 4 people. The first floor consists of a living area with a double-sized futon, a kitchen/small dining area plus a full bath. The kitchen is fully equipped and includes complimentary starter coffee, tea. You even have a blender and coffee grinder.
A visit to the supermarket en route is a good idea. Bring re-usable shopping bags.
Outdoor dining is an option on your veranda where you have a table and 2 chairs plus 2 full size lounges.
Upstairs there are 2 bedrooms and a full bath. Both bedrooms have queen size beds. The main bedroom also has a small deck where you can enjoy the view, breeze and your favorite beverage.
The south shore is known for lovely breezes, so the ceiling fans throughout the villa keep the accommodations very comfortable however, there are A/C units in each bedroom and a split unit A/C which serves the downstairs area if you prefer. *
The villa is on the first two floors of the 3-story building on the waterside with a private entrance. The property owners' veranda and a small part of their living room are on the floor above.
The water in the bight is clean here on the south shore where the shallow reef attracts a variety of sea life. The breezes are wonderful for coolness and helping to keep bugs at bay.
Please plan on bringing reef-friendly sunscreen and/or rash guards. We encourage the use of re-fill water bottles and provide a fresh clean water station inside your villa. Leave no trace and respect the reef and sea life. Please no throwing anything in the water and no touching, standing on, or taking souvenirs from the reef. We do not have a beach but Turqois Bay is a 5 minute ride and Camp Bay beach is about a 20 minute ride.
Our private dock offers unlimited opportunities! Leisurely snorkel our shallow area of the reef, or kayak to the nearby mangrove tunnels built by the Paypan Indians and used by pirates. Other kayak destinations include nearby restaurants like Trico’s (Jonesville Point Marina), On the Rock, or Hole in the Wall,
Sit-On-Top Kayaks, which guests often pay to rent elsewhere on the island are are included free with this rental. Our guests tell us the island's best snorkel is right at the entrance to our bight, where you can snorkel day after day and always see different marine life.
Other options available are arranging for personalized dive services, boat excursions, or catamaran snorkeling trips. Tortuga Diving at Tricos or Reef House offer diving, lessons, or a discovery dive - no certification needed. A local fishing guide or water taxi offer island exploration. Taxi or van service can also be coordinated depending on your destination needs. (Please note, private excursions, water taxis, etc. are outside of your rental quote.)
Access to dive, restaurants and other great activities via water taxi is available right from our dock.
Please note we also maintain a strict quiet time from 9 pm - 7 am. Guests are welcome to enjoy subdued conversation and the fresh ocean breezes during these times. Kindly understand this rule is to insure everyone’s peaceful time early and later. Pool hours are 8-6 but the grill can be used up until 8 pm.
We are away from the noisy main tourist area and cruise ships, yet only 20 minutes from French Harbour restaurants and shopping. We're just 3 miles from Turquoise Bay and west of Jonesville and Oakridge.
Our property is situated surrounded by woods and has lush tropical flora. Windwood Serenity is an ideal place to relax and revive while getting in touch with nature. You wont hear street traffic, beach vendors, or blenders. You will hear the gentle roll of the waves, the wing flap of hummingbirds, and the voice of morning Grackles and white wing doves.
