One of three cabins on a multi-acre property, this cozy getaway offers seclusion, mountain views, and the perfect base for exploring the San Juan Mountains. This $300 payment is applied toward the total amount due and is only refundable within 72 hours of the time the booking is made. If your arrival date is within 30 days of booking, payment in full is required at the time of booking. Cancellations or changes that result in a shortened stay that are made within thirty (30) days of the arrival date forfeit the entire reservation amount while cancellations made more than thirty (30) days in advance of your arrival only forfeit the $300 payment made at the time of booking. For reservations at least thirty (30) nights, the cancellation policy above increases to sixty (60) days before the arrival date. Let me start by saying follow the directions in your text to get there. Google Maps kept trying to take us through an adjacent field. This cabin was perfect for a weekend getaway! My girlfriend and I rented it because we have always wanted to visit Ouray and Telluride and this cabin is in the perfect spot. It was nice to be close to town if we needed something but not IN town. The cabin amenities are nice and communications were prompt and courteous anytime we had a question. I would say the only bad thing I could say was about the wood burning stove.I have never used one like this and couldn't keep a fire going despite doing it all the time while camping. The directions were a little vague on it's use, but because of the floor heater, we didn't bother with it past the first try. Beautiful views all around. Three days we watched mule deer graze within 50 feet of us. Very quiet and very peaceful, exactly what we needed. I did have to buy hangers for our clothes (we stayed 7 days) but that's the ONLY "complaint". There are so many options of what to do, we were never bored, even though it rained half the stay. We hope to return. Directions to the place were somewhat misleading, but we made a call the young lady stayed on the phone until we found the cabin. The place is clean, and the views from the bedroom and the living room are fantastic. We had turkeys great us every day, and on our last morning, we had four mule deer bucks walk within 10 feet of the property. You can't hear the road noise. The upstairs is a loft but feels like a second floor. The bathroom is downstairs which could be an inconvenience for some. We left something at the cabin accidentally. The manager was quick to mail it to us. FOR WHICH WE ARE VERY THANKFUL. We reimbursed the postage cost. We made a list of some things that could be done to help in the kitchen a bathroom areas. 1\. Update VRBO site as it showed blanket/s in the closet upstairs and there were none; 2\. Need hangers in the closet upstairs as there were none & we were there for 2 weeks, 3\. Add shelves under the end of cabinet in the kitchen that would help for pantry storage; 4\. Add portable drawers or shelves under the existing dressing table in the empty space; 5\. Need an elongated commode as the one there is very low and small; 6\. Brighter light in the kitchen: example: round stick on lights under the cabinet; 7\. Printed sheet with instructions to use the TV dish as we had problems with it; 8\. Need door stop at entry door; 9\. Replace shower door water seal; 10\. No laundry mat in Ouray except for at the RV, and the town was packed and no laundry in Ridgeway so we had to drive to Montrose to wash clothes as we were there for 2 weeks. ##### Verna S. You know, cool, up high, in the woods, etc. Instead, the place was down the street from town. It was an absolute hotbox. It was so hot we could not sleep. (There is no AC in this cabin.) All we could do was lay there and sweat. In addition, the bed was upstairs and the bathroom downstairs...and the stairs were steep and tight...making it VERY difficult for us seniors. It is located halfway between Ouray and Ridgway, Colorado behind a hill in such a way that it can not be seen from the highway. You can not hear any of the noise from the highway. The cabin is fine for two people and the only small nit I have to pick with it that the bedroom is upstairs while the bathroom/shower is downstairs. It was nice to discover that there was a new flatscreen TV downstairs and also a handrail next to the stairs going to the bedroom. Also had wild turkeys roaming through the yard a couple of times a day. We look forward to staying here again. ##### Charles P. A nice 5x5 Miley stopped by. No bears. Lots of cloud cover all week in Ouray, but was warm and sunny in Montrose. Every time we started to head to a hot spring we heard thunder. Opening the freezer to find a container of chocolate Hagaan Daas ice cream welcomed us with smiles! There is no AC, but the owners had the box fans going downstairs and oscillating fan going upstairs. The view of the Rocky mountains from the bedroom window was fantastic.If the oak brush were trimmed back low, the view could have been enjoyed from the main level. We would have eaten outside, but the picnic table needs to be replaced. The instructions on trash removal were unclear, so we hauled it out ourselves. We were pleased with the kitchen set up, coffee, paper towels, etc. We even saw wild turkeys along with energetic chipmunks. We would come back.
