Temperatures inside the property are easily managed by using fans and opening the windows at night when temperatures drop into the 40s. •Pets are not allowed Cancellation Policy: A non-refundable payment of $300 is required at the time of booking. This $300 payment is applied toward the total amount due and is only refundable within 72 hours of the time the booking is made. If your arrival date is within 30 days of booking, payment in full is required at the time of booking. Cancellations or changes that result in a shortened stay that are made within thirty (30) days of the arrival date forfeit the entire reservation amount while cancellations made more than thirty (30) days in advance of your arrival only forfeit the $300 payment made at the time of booking. For reservations at least thirty (30) nights, the cancellation policy above increases to sixty (60) days before the arrival date. Jul 25, 2025 Liked: Cleanliness, check-in, communication, location, listing accuracy Overall a good property to stay in and recommended.Pros:- Very private and peaceful - super quiet.- Situated in the valley amid farms giving a rural atmosphere.- Beautiful views down the valley to Ouray.- Great location between Ouray and Ridgway.- Kitchen well stocked.- Very nicely furnished and decorated.- Beds were comfortable.- VRC management company was excellent and very responsive.- Good Verizon cell coverage.Cons:- Wifi was pretty slow at 7-8MB up/down over satellite and sometimes dropped to 2-3MB. We had no problems with our Apple TV but computer Wifi was slow and had issues at times.- We visited for two weeks in July and the temps hit the lower 90s and the up stairs bedroom was just too hot to sleep in (never cooled off).- No A/C except for a very small unit in the upstairs bedroom which really couldn't cool the space.- You can smell cows from time to time.- The blender would not work but VRC replaced it same day.- The coffee maker carafe was missing (glad we brought our own coffee maker).- The BBQ only had one row of burners that was working and it would not get hot enough to grill. The owner came by and worked on it but we did not try it again.- Mosquitos: the irrigated pastures produced a LOT of the buggers.- Kitchen is somewhat small and challenging it you intend to do a lot of cooking.- Windows on the north side of the house were very dirty. ##### Betsy W. Cabin was everything we were led to believe; clean, well equipped, and great location! Squeaky floors reminded me of the floors in my home as a kid 80 years ago! Loved it!!! Everyone associated with the rental and cabin itself were great and extremely caring and personable! Weather and foliage colors were wonderful! They allowed us a 3 night booking, they allowed our 12lb dog and allowed us ALL the privacy we were looking for. We truly enjoyed the seclusion of the site and the interior of the home had everything we needed, it was perfect. Fishing, visiting small town Ridgway and Ouray and the so, so peaceful evenings on the deck was just what we were looking for. I would love to come back and do it again.
