About this property
Bright, Cozy, Private Vermont Respite
A countryside retreat that lands you in the heart of some of Vermont's most iconic attractions: 25 minutes to Burlington, Lake Champlain and Waterbury, 15 to Bolton, 45 to Stowe/Sugarbush, and 5 to the Sleepy Hollow Nordic/Mountain Biking Center. With the Johnnie Brook running through the backyard, hiking trails close to the property and the quaint Richmond town center just a few miles away, this home away from home has everything you need to rest, relax and enjoy some of the best of Vermont. The space Set on wonderfully private 12 acres, the home is clean, cozy, warm and bright. With three bedrooms upstairs and a bunk room downstairs it comfortably sleeps twelve guests. The home is made for rest, relaxation and recreation: warm-up by one of the fireplaces, slip away into the library, play a board game with family, host an air hockey tournament with friends, have that talented cousin entertain on the piano, relax by the brook, catch one the best starlit nights you may ever see or take in a snowy winter night from the all-season sunroom. In the warmer months enjoy the sweeping lawn, relax on the hammock or smores at one of two outdoor firepits.
Wifi, laundry, Prime and Netflix, a propane grill on the landscaped stone patio, an oversized farmhouse table, and more blankets than one could count are just a few of the things that will help you enjoy your stay. There are two and a half bathrooms - one with a deep soaking tub. The kitchen is complete with all the amenities needed to put together a family dinner with coffee, tea, some light breakfast fare and a few local wares provided to welcome you to the home. Other things to note In the warmer months, Black Bears pass through from time to time. They are quite skittish and will keep their distance. It is essential, however, that the bears are never fed nor should food be left out in any manner. Doing so poses a threat to guests... and the bears. Thank you for helping to keep our local wildlife safe and happy.

We had a group of 6 adults for a fun weekend. Beautiful house off the road. Went to several local restaurants and into Burlington for a day. Would recommend this location for a fun relaxing trip to the area.
This was a wonderful experience for our family. Steve is an excellent host. The house is impecable and roomy. Very nice woodwork and details throughout. The sun room was amazing. My sister and I loved our morning coffee out there with the cozy fireplace and surrounding view of the Vermont foliage. The quiet and privacy were much appreciated. We were able to cook a big meal for a family celebration that turned out to be very special. This was truly a memorable location.
We stayed at Steve’s home for 3 nights. During our stay we experienced a large snow storm and Steve continuously ensured all walkways were shoveled and the driveway was well taken care of. Steve even plowed the driveway in the early hours of the morning so some of our party could make their 6am flight! The home was spacious but cozy and we loved the sun room. We highly recommend this home.
We enjoyed our time at Steve's place. The sun room is an excellent place to hang out, no matter the group (we were having a team retreat). Very private property, no one else in sight. Appreciated the stocked kitchen and big Tv.
Only downside I can think of what that shower water pressure was very low.
We also didn't realize from the listing that the owners were on the property - totally fine though, they gave us our space!
The property was clean and welcoming. There is no a/c, but there are fans everywhere and even with the high humidity we were comfortable. We enjoyed the fire pit, large dining table, comfortable beds.
The owner's communication and attention to our specific situation was exceptional. He responded within minutes and was helpful and understanding.
We hope to return next year.

Great property, wonderful hosts! Would highly recommend!
One of my sons had recently moved to Vermont, this house was perfect for all of us to be together and celebrate the holiday. It even snowed, which delighted my granddaughters.
The property was beautiful and spacious. The kitchen was well stocked with everything from utensils, spices, condiments, coffee, etc. This is not a bare bones place like you may commonly find with other airbnb/vrbos but feels like a home and Steve has carefully thought of anything you may need. As a host, Steve was communicative and answered any questions we had promptly. Would recommend this spot and would love to return.
We stayed in Richmond while attending our son's wedding at Sleepy Hollow. It worked out perfectly for us and my siblings who came from Washington, Connecticut and Massachusetts to attend the wedding. One of the hall lights started flashing on and off soon after we arrived - and Steve had someone in to fix it within an hour. (with a 9 year old and an infant in the mix, hallway lights are important!)
