Second stay in this property in two months and enjoyed it even more the second time because the weather was better and we could sit outside at the pool!
It was fabulous...we enjoyed our stay there your rooms are so wow...spotless clean...only one thing that was missing n that thing is the bar fridge... otherwise your place roooocks...!!! We want to visit again....your staff as well is so nice and friendly...keep it up...!!!!!
It's one of the peacefully situated very neat and clean and comfortable. Though I live only 20km away from hotel still I book and enjoy. It's very presentable. Just needs some halaal food for Muslim people so it can be more famous to even dine there.
One suggestion to the owner try to build a massive comfortable swimming pool with all luxury around the pool.

Restaurant service was very average and food was not worth eating.
It seems that the only people who go to Richards Bay are on business, or are there to visit relatives. Not much of a tourist attraction! We were there to visit family-related locations. The hotel is far away from anything, which is OK if you have a car - which is the only way to get there! We were pleased with the hotel, which is easy to find, and were given a room overlooking the indoor courtyard. Very nice. Good food in the restaurant - which is very helpful, because there is nothing else around the hotel without going into the civic centre. The latter largely boasts fast food outlets.
We booked a 2 twin-bedded rooms but were given 2 rooms with double beds instead. This was not good, but 1 room was bedding was subsequently changed, and the twin beds emerged. Rooms were clean overall, although the sink in one room was not very clear, and water emptied slowly.
Managers very friendly and kind. Waiters are dreadful, they never come and take
Your order, you have to stand up nd get it yourself. Even if the order is made. They would take 10minutes just to serve drinks. Not good at all.
It was a great disappointment for the four star, it's so like the two star

Quite basic - not much more
It's just the hotel, with nothing else around the property. Standard Protea room amenities. Wi-Fi was down (for two weeks!) and check-in staff did not advise of this, making it a frustrating experience in-room trying to troubleshoot my hardware. Could hear occupants from next room wake up (alarm clock) and shower, though the bed and bedding in my room was comfortable. TV had a chronic hum-like noise on each of the channels which made it slightly difficult to hear. One of the few Protea's that offers a fitness center, so that was one of the few pluses on this trip. Overall, just an OK stay. Consider other hotels alongside this to ensure you get one that meets your needs.
My young daughter and I travelled alone and shared a room. I will not recommend this hotel to anyone and definately not go back there. VERY noisy, guests party in their rooms from 11pm to 4am, non-stop. Bedroom doors are left open with loud music and guests shouting. Some guests even cooked food in their room, bringing their own slowcookers, causing power failures in other rooms!! The building is not very soundproof and any noise in the hall can be heard in your bedroom. We stayed for 4 nights and I had not much sleep during that whole time. No manager was on duty Saturday, could not take the matter up with anyone.
Fantastic Staff. Exceptional Comfort. Great Locati
I have only in the last year of so discovered the Premier Hotel chain and I have had each and every time an exceptional experience. I travel a great deal with my work and I have a found a few hotels around the world that I look forward to staying at and this hotel chain is one of them. I arrived on the 12 May in the evening and was provided with a room that was a pleasure to return to each day. It was tastefully decorated wth a bathtub, shower, basic, etc with plenty of towels and other bathroom comforts. My room had a large size bed with pillows and more pillows. I had a fridge and a well stocked coffee and cookie station. My room overlooked a beautiful lush garden and my internet was strong and fast.... That evening i enjoyed a buffet dinner that had a large selection of food dishes for me (I am a vegetarian) and the staff were highly attentive to my dining needs. In the morning I was pleasantly surprised with another large selection of breakfast options and during my meal the General Manager ( a real gentleman) came and introduced himself to me and was genuinely interested in my experience at the hotel.... Unfortunately for me, I had left my lights on and my car would not start.... I went to see the general manager about the situation and he said "no problem' we are here to help... Now I have never been in a hotel where a GM rolls up his sleeves and pushes a car for a guest but I can assure you that this is the kind of man that the GM is....Although we could not get the ca
We stayed here for 5 nights and definitely not worth the money paid. Had various issues from day 1 eg. fridge was not working when we arrived, someone came and had a look at it and said that it was okay, to cut a long story short, we eventually got a new fridge on day three after our stuff got spoiled. Secondly the safe was not working, we called two times and each time someone came to reset the safe, it was only on the third call did they realize that the batterries needed to be changed. Then our room card did not work two days in a row before we had to go to reception and tell them to encode it for our entire stay. We also ordered room service one of the evenings and some of the items orderd were not available even though it was listed so we ended up with our second choices. Fair enough, things happen but most of these could have be avoided and worst of all, not once did someone apologize for anything! Definitely not 4* service. I must say that the room was comfortable, although it would have been better if there was a double bed instead of two single beds pushed together. We booked the superior room which was okay but cannot be compared to other similar priced hotels. To top everything off, the gym and pool was out of order. Lets hope that no one else has the same experience.
Property was not clean. Stains/Marks on the floors in the foyer and in the room. Very noisy. No facilities/services available after 9pm, including no food/beverage. Very old and tired furniture. Staff seemed inconvenienced during check-in.
