When we arrived it appeared as though the place had likely been empty and been poorly maintained in its vacancy. It smelled horrible, like something head died in the vents or under the house. We live in the country so I know that smell. The dish disposal also had an entirely different, rank smell. Rotten food waste. Wasn’t sure if maybe there was an issue with the septic. We aired it out and lit candles which helped but the stanks never went away. Other than that it was fairly clean. Smaller gripes like the Murphy bed wasn’t made up, the shower head downstairs was ancient which left the spray very uncomfortable and difficult to use, the grill cover was not on the grill and was laying in the porch so both items were soaking wet outside, and several of the pots and pans were dirty and greasy in the cabinets. Hot water heater isn’t sufficient to heat master bath tub. It was Christmas weekend and I didn’t want to deal with maintenance coming in and around, so I just let it go.
The house itself is fine. Similar to all the other cabins in eagle crest and right in the golf course. Good set of kitchen tools. Plenty of towels and linens.
