Struggling to find a quiet beach? Well, how about your OWN PRIVATE BEACH! This paradise in Rapid River has roughly 100 feet of private beach right on the gorgeous Little Bay de Noc. Words don’t do the incredible sunrises, sunsets and bonfires by the water justice. The house itself is spacious, with four bedrooms and three full bathrooms to fit a big family. One of the bedrooms has three sets of bunk beds. The upstairs ensuite bedroom has its own deck with water views, there is an updated kitchen and sitting area. Professional Ice Fisherman Love our place! There is seclusion and Mother Nature all-around, but for those who aren’t all about peace and quiet, not to worry! Across the street is a township hall with a playground for kids and mini-park for other activities. The home is in the Eastern Timezone only 30 minutes southeast from the stores, shops and restaurants of Escanaba, and an hour south of the same features Marquette offers. Oh, and the downtown of Rapid River has two good restaurants and an ice cream place! The location was spectacular, with the house located on its own private beach. We had camp fires every night, we were outside most of the day, and our kids loved having fun on the beach and being near the water. The kitchen was well equipped and the beds were comfortable. The communication with the host was frequent, and very timely which was nice. The only 2 downsides to the place was that the oven wouldn’t heat up, and the internet cut out every hour or two but then would come back on after a 5 minute reset. First time visitors to the UP, the cottage was clean and spacious, providing a comfortable stay with multiple families. It came fully stocked with all the amenities we needed, making our stay effortless and enjoyable. The very spacious bunkroom was a hit with the kids. The highlight was undoubtedly the private beach, offering fun days of paddle boarding and kayaking. The view of the sunsets were nothing short of spectacular. Each night ended with a bonfire and smores as we stared up at the clarity of the stars. We took a few day trips and enjoyed exploring the beauty of Pictured Rocks and Kitch-iti-kipi. The home was found as expected and advertised. We had plenty of wood for the fire pit and even had charcoal for the grill! There were well placed notes to communicate guest expectations and responsibilities, and we had plenty of room for our family of 7 adults and one grandchild. The beach was our grandchild's favorite spo and there were even some sand toys for them to use. We also enjoyed the kayaks and supplied life jackets. We took a short drive to Jack's restaurant which we recommend, went to visit the local lighthouse just down the road, and also checked out an amazing custom knife store! Beautiful grassy yard for playing, and huge sandy beach, waterfront access and amazing views over Lake Michigan. Kayaks and a paddle board provided endless entertainment, as well as searching for unique shells and treasures in the sand. A true Northern MI lake paradise for our group of 8 adults and 24 children. The layout of the home itself lent itself well to our large group. Living spaces were spread out to create several areas to hang. Large indoor and outdoor dining table, and well-equipped kitchen. \*\*There is no AC in the house. The main living areas get a nice breeze off the lake, but next time we would bring some additional fans for the bedrooms (the hosts supplied a few fans too). We had a wonderful long weekend to kick off our kids’ first week of summer in this lake house. We are familiar with the area having visited nearly every summer for the last 35 years so we know how great it is(!) but have been looking for a new home to accommodate our growing family and this spot was perfect. The kitchen and main sitting area retain a log cabin feel while the rest of the home’s additions are thoughtful and well spread. We loved the master bedroom loft and gorgeous attached bath. So light-filled with great breezes and lake views throughout. The kids were thrilled by the bunk beds in the guest room (though safety rails would be appreciated on the top bunks for littles) and this is one of the cleanest rental homes we’ve ever stayed at. Plenty of space for our newly crawling baby to explore safely and confidently. Even a closet full of games for our rainy day. Loved the fire pit and beach was spot on—perfect for rock and driftwood collecting and crayfish watching. Will be back… this time later in the summer so we can enjoy more time in the water. Way too nippy still in late May to fully enjoy the kayaks and swimming. Neighbors are close but friendly and street is quiet as a mouse save the crashing waves. Wonderful stay! It was the best time! 10 adults and 6 kids. Ranging in age from 2 to 84! The house was very clean with comfy bedding/ blankets, plenty of towels, & a well stocked kitchen. There were games, beach toys, & plenty of outdoor seating. We loved the kayaks and paddle board and it was so nice to have water shoes and life jackets available to use. Communication with owner was great! Quick reponse and very kind. The sunsets were breathtaking. I'm a little confused how you would sleep 23 in this house, to be honest. There are 3 bedrooms. One small room with a double bed.One decent sized room with a double or queen. One larger room with 3 sets of double/twin bunks. My husband liteally couldn't stop laughing the first night we tried to squeeze into the bottom bunk! He quickly ended up joining some kids on the couch for the entire vacation. Luckily, it was a comfortable couch. Then, upstairs there is a bed in a loft. There is also a very old pull out sofa with a mattress not even the kids would sleep on! It was extremely uncomfortable and it felt like you were laying directly on the metal frame. We made it work, but would have needed an air mattress for any more people. The only other minor thing was the "techy" door handles/locks. We kept getting locked out of the porch and kitchen doors and the code didn't always work. Thankfully, the main door had an actual manual lock and stayed unlocked. Overall, FANTASTIC. We ll be back! ##### Jamie N.
