This is a classic camp adjacent to public/conservation land, and about as close as you can get to the Presidential Range without being in either a motel or a condo that doesn't feel like the mountains. Just the basics, and good basics they are: comfy beds, a wood stove if you need it to back up the electric heat, a bench for watching the wildlife come and go, spring water for your coffee, and your host's many small innovations to make the house work well without too much tech and bother. Owner pointed out a trail head just a short walk from cabin which was perfect. No driving to planned starting point was necessary. An extremely clean and tidy house with all the essentials provided.
