Minutes from Duke! The unit is newly renovated, brand new granite kitchen counter tops, new tiled bath room, hard wood floors, new furniture, comfortable memory foam mattress, new plumbing, electrical, mini split air conditioning/heat, fiber speed WIFI, smart TV, off street parking for one car in driveway. PLEASE NOTE: We are offering several identical listings on the same street. Pillows, rug, paintings, etc. subject to change. While we are not likely to be onsite to welcome you or during your stay, we are easily accessible and timely in responding via the booking platform website/apps between 6am to 9pm EST. We can also be reached via text message or phone call in the event of an emergency. Our phone number will be provided prior to check in. This home is one side of a duplex. We own both sides and both are rented strictly on Airbnb. The home is located on the border of the Lyon Park/Lakewood neighborhoods. We are close to Duke, downtown, Whole Foods, etc. Durham is a diverse and ever changing city. If this is your first time to Durham, please be aware that you will see people of all walks of life. There are many renovated homes nearby and you will find most local residents to be friendly. Please be courteous and respectful to all neighbors. Please park in the driveway to the left. Please enter up the front steps and use the door on the left (unit A). The door uses the August Home smart lock and can be accessed by sending us your cellphone information prior to check in. Once you provide your cellphone and we add your number, you will receive a text message with additional instructions on how to download the app. Upon arrival to the front door, simply open the August Home app and press the circle to unlock the front door (the phone will sense the door lock via Bluetooth). We will also send you a unique pin pad code either as a backup or for primary use if you prefer not to download the door lock app. In the event that technology fails, we have a backup lockbox hidden on site for emergency access. There is only one step onto the front porch. Once inside, everything is on a single level. There are security cameras on the outside corners and front porch. This space is the left side of a duplex separated by a center wall and accessed via a private entrance. The entire space is yours and no interior spaces are shared. Once inside, the property opens to a living room with a couch, coffee table and smart tv where you can access your streaming services. The living room is open to the kitchen with barstool seating for two, new stainless steel appliances and basic pots, pans, cutlery, etc. Down the hallway, you will find the laundry area equipped with a washing machine and dryer and a bathroom with a full sized tub/shower combo. The bedroom has a closet space and comfortable queen bed and privacy blackout curtains for a comfortable night's sleep. This location is central to many attractions. You can check the Durham transportation website for the local bus route and other transportation options. Most guests opt to bring a car. Free parking for one cars is available onsite in the left side driveway. There may be additional street parking available within close proximity but is not guaranteed. 5 minute drive to downtown Durham 3 minute drive to Duke 17 minute drive to RDU airport To ensure transparency and clear expectations up front, please note the following for all of our properties: \- We are pet friendly BUT all of our guests do not have pets or appreciate pet hair. Therefore, we charge an extra $57 pet cleaning fee that is passed on entirely to our cleaning crew. This ensures that they spend the extra time removing any pet hair from linens and towels, spend extra time cleaning baseboard trim, wiping fan blades, cleaning HVAC filters, etc. If you do not select "Add Pet" when booking and you stay with a pet, the $57 cleaning fee will be requested from you at checkout. Please select Add Pet in your initial booking to avoid this interaction. \- We absolutely prohibit any and all smoking and drug use at our properties. This behavior makes it extremely difficult to turnover the unit for a new guest likely arriving the same day of your departure. If we find that you have smoked in our property, there will be an extra $200 cleaning fee, you will receive a negative review, and you will not be able to book at our properties in the future. This is a non-negotiable. Do not book if you plan to smoke. \- No parties allowed or loud music after 8pm. Many of our properties are connected duplexes and out of courtesy for neighbors, we ask that there be no gatherings or loud music or unauthorized guests not listed on the reservation. I was there for several weeks and had great communication with the host/owner. There were a few issues that got resolved immediately and even had a few extensions that were handled with ease. The neighborhood is a mix of incomes, generations, and ethnic backgrounds but i always felt safe and absolutley no trouble of any kind. It even has a small back yard if you want the space. One bedroom and no pull out sofa but plenty of room and spacious living area and huge walk in closet. I felt the bedroom could have used a tv or a dresser but for the price this was an awesome pick. ##### Robin W. The bed, linen and the pillows were 4 star quality. Clean towels were available for the shower, with nice hot water, and plenty of it! The kitchen is modern, the toaster is the pop-up type, so use the microwave or oven for croissants, pizza, etc. There is a large closet behind the bedroom with shelving, rods and hangers. Use the washer/dryer, the host provided us laundry pods (we used only the dryer for our bath towels). A porch catches the morning sun, with the temp barely above 40 we toughed it out for our coffee. We met many of the neighbors as we walked our Yorkie, Jackson. There's a Red Lion supermarket within walking distance (it's a truck, but doable). Off street parking is provided. Driving to downtown is no problem. A well lit mini-mart is at the foot of the block, but its mainly for snacks. Our hosts were quick to answer any queries. No problems. ##### David W.
