Privacy is guaranteed, but you do have to enjoy isolation, as the nearest shops and bars are a hair-raising 25 minute drive up and down the mountain on a very narrow, twisty road. "We were stunned by the spacious and tidy rooms. Kitchens were very well equipped (better than we ever encountered in many other apartments we visited with this group of friends + kids). The environment is beautiful and the help of Imogen (our host) was great! The swimming pool, table tennis, spacious terras, table football were great!"

Jean was very welcoming and the air-conditioning was the best we've ever had, keeping the villa cool throughout. The house is spacious and well-equipped and the private and partially shady terrace with its beautiful trees and wisteria-covered outdoor dining space was a godsend on the hottest of days. "My wife Jo and I spent a very pleasant ten days at Mas Santol. The gite is very beautiful, in a great location not far from the charming small town of Ceret. We explored the area and also went further afield, to the beach at Le Racoul and into the mountains of Prats-de-Mollo. Martine and Serge were very nice to deal with. "Our group (5 active adults, all in our 60's) loved our stay at l'Atelier Maillol. When not exploring the region and its attractions, we spent much of our time sitting on the terrace/deck, eating delicious local food and drinking tasty wines. We felt that the description of the location could be a little more precise.The access road is quite rough and tricky to negotiate in places after heavy rain. This is listed as an English speaking host which is not accurate. We struggled to communicate. The place is advertised with a pool but this was out of bounds due to the drought, we understand this but we should have known before arrival. We had no hot water at all during our stay and we could not contact the host despite messaging and ringing the door...
