Not a resort I would recommend if you're going to Puerto Vallarta. If you're looking for an all-inclusive place, you might want to check elsewhere. The food was okay but always the same things, rarely new foods. However, they had three different restaurants for dinner, offering good choices. The room was fine but we had trouble with the bathroom faucet and the sink. It kept leaking from under, making a mess. Also, the AC kept making weird noises when turned off, which was very disturbing. We talked twice to the staff at the front desk about these problems and they told us they would send someone to fix it. We don't know if they ever sent someone but these problems were never resolved. The management was very disappointing. They didn't explain anything, they simply gave us the keys without explaining the commodities. What really disappointed us was the fact that they kicked us out on our last day. Our flight was at 7 pm and we had to leave the room for 11 am that morning. We had planned to spend the day at the resort and at the beach until it was time for us to leave. Unfortunately, by leaving the room, we didn't have access to the resort and the commodities anymore. They told us we had to pay 1100 pesos for a day pass in order to spend the few hours there until our flight. We had already pay enough money to be there, they wanted us to pay even more for a simple request. It's not like they need more money anyways. What a disappointing stay at Canto Del Sol...

l'equipe d'animation au complet et le personnel des restaurant et des bars etaient tous simplement genial. le personnel de la reception etais terrible. j'ai reserver et payer 2 chambres pour 6 personnes ,1 chambre etait super et l,autre tres bruillante par des moteur de l'hotel sur la cours exterieur .chambre 329 ne pas la reserver. chambre pour 4 avec 2 peignoir,2 bouteille d'eau et quand vous allez a la reception ,le personnel masculin tres grand et tres desagreable vous dit de remonter dans votre chambre et de les appeler. tous le reste de l'hotel est merveilleux mais juste pour l'acceuil et le manque de gentillesse et de comprehension de la reception .je n'y retournerais surement pas. quand j'ai demander pour changer de chambre l"homme ma repondu que j'avais reserver par expedia et que donc j'avais les plus mauvaise chambre .c,est dommage car tous le reste etais superbe ,surtout l'animation.

We had an amazing stay at this property. The pool was big and the swim up bar was a plus. The staff were very helpful and friendly. The buffet was plentiful and a good variety of different food every day. Loved the Italian restaurant. The rooms are clean and well serviced. The only negative was the shower leaked and the burnt out lightbulb didn’t get changed when we asked but honestly I would recommend this to anyone.

The rooms booked for us were not what we expected we booked, i.e. in the main Canto Del Sol near the restaurant, pools, oceanview etc. The check-in receptionist insisted to put us in the booked rooms in another building and worst at the farthest remote site with the view of roofs on f other resorts and houses. He could have describe to us how those rooms look like and whether we prefer to our our intended site. We felt deceived and upsold to pay additional fees for the rooms in the main centre site.

I would have liked to have seen some kind of map of the property and information explaining what was available. The property is not huge but neither is it a boutique hotel so I got lost a few times. I also booked a suite and would have liked to have had dish soap, dish towels and cloths and coffee in the room. It's hard to swim in the ocean but that's to be expected along this stretch of the beach. The food was pretty good. Location is good. An older hotel but I would stay here again.

Very dated property, food terrible, no service at the beach and the palapas (umbrellas) way too low that you can barely see around the beach. Room, bed and pillows smell awful that I have to update the room which ruins my budget. We won’t return to this hotel, worst experience in many times in Vallarta.

The good We really enjoyed the staff and the hotel itself. The bad. Not a lot of food options for non Mexican dishes and we had zero hot water in our suite. We talked to numerous staff and they said that there was nothing they could do. We also had to ask 3 of our 7 days to have our mini bar restocked. I know these seem like minor issues but we spend a lot of money to not have a hot shower for a week.

The first room I got had dead cockroaches around the fridge, and was dark and dingy with no balcony and broken floor tiles everywhere. The room espresso the bathroom could use some major upgrades. The second room was only slightly better but had no fridge. I was told “some rooms have no fridge” After arguing with front desk I was told one will be brought right away. It didn’t come until the next evening after several calls to front desk. The service at the restaurants and pool bars was fantastic!!! The food was edible but definitely not great. Again the servers were amazing.

Probably the best option for all inclusive hotel at a great price! This resort has a good location, yes it may appear older as mentioned in other reviews however, it is very clean and honestly has all you need. The pools are nice as is the mini water park. The buffet is average, but the specialty restaurants are great, the staff at the Mexican restaurant were superb. I've been here on three occasions and the staff is always great. But the person who always stands out to me is Pedro at the pool who kindly made sure we had food and drinks at all times, also providing us shade and tables when possible, those details win us over! I can wait to go back to this resort!

My husband and I stayed for two weeks. We booked a "mountain view" room which ended up being in Canto's sister building Villas Vallarta. We didn't mind being in the Villas at all. It was quieter than the busy Canto building. They have a nice small pool that is never busy. Good for adults, but kids may find it boring. We booked a standard room that put us in the back of the building with no balcony and only a small view of mountains and a big view of an ugly alley. By day two we could see some rooms above the Villas pool seemed to be empty, so we paid to upgrade to a room over looking the Villas pool and with a peek at the ocean. Be sure to negotiate at the front desk if you choose to change to a better room. The new room had a balcony with a little kitchen area. We didn't use the kitchen much, but the microwave was handy to warm up our morning coffees and the fridge was good for keeping our water bottles cold. We were there in April, so it wasn't crazy busy. It was pretty easy to book the restaurants and I would highly recommend eating at all of them! We enjoyed all four of them, I can't pick a favorite. A little secret for a peaceful stress free breakfast would be to eat at the Mexican restaurant located at Villas Vallarta. They offer a scaled down version of the buffet breakfast with no crowd. The Ceviche restaurant is excellent and they have ice cream! The staff all work hard, don't forget to tip them!

Overall good value for the $$ . You get what you pay for . The main pool area is gorgeous-clean and you cannot ask for more. Bring your own Yeti if you want to drink in the pool as cups are not allowed. Plenty of chairs and nice entertainment. Beautiful surroundings-I once saw dolphins swimming early in the morning . The resort is close to Melacon if you willing to walk for 20-30 min. Overall nice location. I just wish we were able to eat more in the restaurants not just 3 nights -thought all inclusive meant that. Buffet is lucking options for vegetarians. Pasta night was good:) My only complain would be room itself.Although it was cleaned everyday -the bathroom reeked! I don’t know if that’s every room issue but definitely affected our stay there.
