It was mediocre! I’ve experienced better from the Royalton! My bathroom are was half clean, fridge warm didn’t fully restock until the day before I checked out! Got bitten by tons of misquotes they ate me alive every night in my room! Food was terrible and tasteless! Had burgers and hot dogs every day on the grill’

Pros: The staff and service are excellent. No complaints about the food. Poolside services was amazing and always on point. Noe was great and was always readily available to take our orders next to the pool. Cons: The concierge who was trying to sell the vacation clubs was a little too pushy and annoying. They were there right when we walked in and kind of sour us a little bit. The mosquitoes around the resorts are crazy. We were practically eaten alive at one restaurant. Also, there was so many mosquitoes in our room. I woke up with so many bites on my face, ears and hands. Bring your own bug spray.

We were there 5 days, paid for a room with a walk out pool. 3 days we complained about the terrible smell in the room, they only moved us the last two days of our stay without any compensation and to a room that did not have a walk out pool. The cleaning staff was doing everything possible, but the way the facility is matted is terrible.

I stayed at the hideaway and it was an amazing time. The butlers were excellent and constantly made sure we were okay and didn’t need anything. There was construction going on in the hideaway area but it did not bother us. Overall we had a great time and i would definitely stay there again.

Wonderful resort. Staff very attentive to all needs and very friendly. Very beautiful resort. Pools/beach were also great. Lots of activities for all ages throughout the day at pool. And live bands and other activities at night. Food was wonderful and reservations were not needed for restaurants. Great gym, tennis, and pickleball courts. Shout out to Willie at bellhop, Maria at checkin, Israel at buffet, and Willfred with Nexus tours for above and beyond hospitality. We will definitely stay with Royalton in the future.

They placed us in a room overlooking construction. We booked adults only swim out room for privacy. We had other guest swimming and walking in our personal swim out everyday. No privacy. When we called to complain, no one assisted. This continued to happen through out our stay. Our stay was not so pleasant. I would not recommend. We notice that’s people of European decent was treated a lot better than people of another cultures.They were accommodated quickly. We were not.

There is a huge language barrier as many of the questions asked in English were incorrectly answered. The front desk staff was a bit rude and it was quite irritating having staff accost us with time share nonsense within 15 mins checking in. Not to mention the many blatant lies we were told to coerce us into listening to them, I.e vip breakfast and special rewards.They would not take no for an answer. It was disheartening that our first day there was mostly taken up with presentations and numbers being thrown at us when we paid for a full day of relaxation. Imagine the days of awkwardness after when the lobby staff is continuously badgering you as to whether you “took the deal”. We did not spend such a vast fee on vacation for feelings of discomfort. As an international resort, one would imagine that they would cater to all religions and ethnicities. Preparing beef and pork on the same grill as other products intended for consumption should be taken into consideration. There also was a weird smell throughout the resort near the rooms.The grounds throughout the resort especially by the pool are a bit uneven and many times we have tripped as well as seen little kids stumble as well with the random uneven surfaces. We have been to another Royalton and we did not have any of the above issues. The stay would have been better without the time share badgering. We understand you work on commission but practically shoving offers at your guests and nagging is in poor taste.

My boyfriend & I took an impromptu trip & we weren’t disappointed! This resort is absolutely beautiful & their advertisement of “all-inclusive” is not false. You have tons of restaurants to choose from, alcoholic beverages & non, ice cream, & even a coffee shop is all provided. The service was also fabulous, especially our Expedia guide, Ariana Alvarez. She helped us get comfortable, helped us book reservations at restaurants, & has gone above and beyond for any issues we came across, however big or small. We definitely plan on going back for a longer trip next time!

Getting chairs at the pool was very hard. There where many pool employees with bags of towels putting them on chairs at about 6:30 AM every day. They would tell people that the chairs are reserved. Most of them are looking for a tip. I refused to tip them because they where very rude. I don't mind tipping for good service and they did not give good service. That needs to fixed.

The property itself is beautiful but I wasn’t too pleased with my room. There were black stains all over the huge mirrors and stains in the jacuzzis. We had the room with the jacuzzi on the balcony and it was extremely small. Our view was horrible and showed the water slides from the other resort and a swamp. I complained about this and was told a supervisor would call me and she never did, as expected. This is an all inclusive resort with beautiful staff but one night I ordered room service and the kitchen staff that called to confirm accused us of having “additional people” in the room because we ordered 3 meals instead of 2. It came across as racist and I was extremely upset but I decided to leave it alone because everyone else was so kind. The drinks are not strong but there are some bartenders that will add more liquor, those the ones you should befriend. (: Other than the room issue and that one staff member, everything else was great. I would stay here again but push for a better room.

Overall had a great stay. There were some minor flaws but that wasn’t severe enough to change the overall experience. Staff is great. Flaws consist of the drinks being watered down, the buffet options are limited and not very good and had a bit of an issue during check in due to booking a king bed room and not being available so was given a double bed room. They tried to resolve the issue by providing the option to switch rooms to a king bed room half way through the trip. The swim out was great though with good water temp and super clean

We had a swimout room and the mosquitoes were horrible. The room also had a stale smell that was never rectified though we complained several times and it stayed in our clothing once we left. The linen needed to be changed several times as each time they changed something was stained or spotted. Overall the stay was ok, but I would not stay at this resort again.

Our butler, Angel was outstanding. Beautiful beach. The staff made hanging around the pool so much fun. The restaurants were very good, especially Armadillo, Hunter, and Dorado.
