"I had a very unpleasant experience at this hotel and would not recommend staying here. To begin with, the lobby being located on the second floor made access difficult and inconvenient. Upon arrival, the staff was immediately rude and unwelcoming, which made me feel uncomfortable during check-in. When I entered my room, there was a strong musty odor. The bathroom was clearly not properly cleaned—the shower door and knob were covered in soap scum, and there was hair in the shower. The bed was also not adequately prepared, with only a mattress pad and a top sheet. I attempted to call the front desk using the room phone, but it did not work. I then had to go back down to the lobby to report the issues. When I explained my concerns, the staff member responded dismissively, stating, “Well, there’s no housekeeping here, so I don’t know what you want me to do.” I asked for cleaning supplies so I could address the situation myself, but she again responded in a condescending tone that she had no access to any supplies. When I asked for clean sheets, she told me I could come back down later to get them. I then requested a room change, but was told no other rooms were available. While I was still at the desk, another guest began checking in. I advised them to inspect their room before settling in, based on my experience. "Rooms were very dated for the price we paid. Rooms were also not very clean. My son found someone’s fake fingernail on the floor next to the bed. Hallways smelled musty but very cool compared to the inside of our room which had trouble keeping cool. Pools are very nice and restaurants are good. Time and energy have gone into keeping the grounds wonderful and picturesque, BUT the rooms were a huge disappointment. It "

"We had an amazing stay at Old San Juan Rentals! The property was exactly as described: clean, comfortable, and full of charm. You really can’t beat the location, right in the heart of Old San Juan, surrounded by beautiful historic streets, shops, and great places to eat. The space itself made for a perfect home base after a day of exploring the city. Everything about the stay felt easy and enjoyable. We would absolutely stay here again and highly recommend this property to anyone looking for a comfortable, convenient, and welcoming place in Old San Juan!"

"Very suitable for our one night stay, lovely/original artistic flair to the decor playing off the Casablanca theme throughout lobby area and in the rooms; excellent staff, both friendly and attentive; the rooftop lounge areas are a big plus. Excellent location. Only caveat: Reservation/ information provided at check-in should be clearer that many rooms HAVE NO WINDOW whatsoever which is a big minus. If this is a problem for you, make sure to ask! "

"The building features an attractive blend of colonial and modern styles and is situated in a prime location. My stay in unit #12, however, was disappointing. Water from the air conditioning unit leaked excessively, and when I arrived, there was already a bucket placed to collect it. Unfortunately, not all of the water ended up in the bucket, leaving the floor wet as well. Signs of humidity, mold, and water stains indicated that this issue had been ongoing. Additionally, the room’s design included two round (and one square) holes in the wall leading to the adjacent room, separated only by painted frosted plexiglass. This setup made it easy to hear everything happening next door."

"Beautiful, unique place; very clean; in a fantastic location in the heart of Old San Juan, adjacent to Fort Cristobal; restaurants nearby; 24 hour desk; cute library; excellent rooftop area with views. The negatives were: our room wasn’t ready at the 4 pm check in time so we had to wait; the next day housekeeping didn’t leave a bath mat towel or wash cloths. We didn’t notice until about to shower. We asked at the desk and they said it would be sent right up and never arrived. Our room was nice but lacked windows we could see out of-however other rooms had balconies etc so I’m sure very nice. Our room was less expensive so that was okay. Desk people were very nice and friendly; lemon water was available in the lobby; water was in the room. No phone in the room to call the desk; I would stay here again! More pros than cons. Very safe area. "

We arrived late from the airport and the two gentlemen at the front desk were courteous, kind, and accommodating. They really made our experience wonderful.
