The sleeping space itself needs air conditioning, we debated several nights to sleep in the living room instead. The sleeping space is also facing towards a surprisingly busy street, which adds some additional noise at night. I think that roaches are not completely preventable in a more rural setting with frequent visitors coming and leaving, but I still would recommended a thorough home assessment for improved pest control.
