As of July 2021, there are 3 A/C portable units in the condo. Please note this condo does not have central AC. The family room and dining area are bright with tropical colors, creating an atmosphere as whimsical and carefree like your vacation should be, with large windows and a sliding glass door to a covered lanai. The only thing I was disappointed is that the listing stated a short private path to the beach. It was not a short walk and the pathway was a bit dangerous to walk in as it is a pretty steep climb down, no stairs just pavement. However, it was a short drive to Hanalei Beach so it worked out. Hide a way beach was a short trek down on an easy path that was breath taking. The sunsets from oir lanai were po ture perfect wvery night along with an evening swim and soak on the hot tub. The beds were comfy and the selection of pillows worked put. We enjoyed cookinh for pirsleves, pic nic ing every day and only had to bring one carry suit case each period..thanks to ability to wash and wear through out the week. We spent a lovely week at Pali Ke Kua - the condo had everything our family of 4 needed (we cooked lots of breakfasts and really appreciated the beach chairs and beach umbrella!). The view of the ocean from the lanai was such a gift! Tons of beautiful birds and little lizards to watch, and beautiful grounds. We enjoyed the pool and we hiked down the trail to Hideaways beach and grilled on the bbq. Lots of great food and beaches nearby. One more general thought — our wish would be that the complex’s path to the beach was public (not just at Pali Ke Kua but throughout the island). We were so happy to see that all of the beaches on Kaua’i are public, and would love to see that welcoming spirit extended with fewer private access points from hotels and condos. Jul 27, 2024 Liked: Cleanliness, check-in, communication, location, listing accuracy #### Despite a snag, it was a wonderful stay ReMax coordinates the stay and we didn't receive the door code to access the unit without having to figure out how to communicate with them. Cell service in Princeville is very spotty! When we got to the room it was 87 degrees inside (windows were closed and the 3 portable A/C units were off). It was supposedly a mistake and ReMax did make it right so no biggie in the end. The beds and pillows were very comfortable and the 6 beach towels were large and helpful. Aug 8, 2023 Liked: Cleanliness, communication, location, listing accuracy #### Beautiful location We loved everything about our stay: the cleanliness of the condo, location (view of the ocean and stunning sunsets just around the corner), and proximity to the Hideaways Pizza Pub. Although there is a paved path to the beach, it has steep inclines. It is more a hike than a walk to the beach, which we were not prepared for the first time we did it. We also had to ask to find the path since it is located at the front of the complex. The only issue we had was when we arrived: all the AC units and fans were off, so it was very hot inside. The location was great, easy to find, grounds were beautiful, beds were comfortable and the condo had everything we needed for a comfortable stay. Basic spices and oil in the cabinets. Things I wished I knew before: - #1 - Air conditioning was completely necessary! We had all 3 air conditioners on full blast when we were in the condo and couldn't maintain 75F - and it wasn't abnormally hot! The late sun shining in the windows and loft layout makes this a warm condo! We were comfortable with the air conditioners. - #2 - Beach. Okay - the "private beach access" is definitely private - the walk down is VERY steep. My husband and I (late 30s) and kids (8, 6) had no issues navigating it, but expect a leg workout on the way up, and careful steps on the way down. The beach is beautiful with course sand and black rock formations - and not another soul in sight! I would not say it is good for swimming, surfing, boogie boarding or snorkeling. #3 - the advertised "BBQ" is at the beach... meaning down that super steep hill I just mentioned... and they are charcoal grills, so you'll need to purchase and haul charcoal down the hill. No thanks. There are no other grills on the property. #4 - the pool and hot tub were clean and decently sized (not huge). The pool lights come on super late - way after sunset. #5 - skip the Hidaway Pizza and go to Tiki Pizza instead at the Hanalei bay resort. GREAT Pizza and views of the bay! ##### Courtney F.
