As of July 2021, there are 3 A/C portable units in the condo. Please note this condo does not have central AC. The family room and dining area are bright with tropical colors, creating an atmosphere as whimsical and carefree like your vacation should be, with large windows and a sliding glass door to a covered lanai. The view from the lanai and surrounding grounds are truly spectacular... sunsets over the famous Bali Hai, the sights and sounds of crashing surf, and the ever-changing ocean and sky. I’ve seen the reviews as to the upstairs being too warm at night. I do not believe that’s true any longer; although we didn’t sleep up there. It gets cool up there at night with the unit up there seeming to run fine. Very nice having plenty of towels and soap and conditioner. Some places aren’t good about that. The main floor is nice and well equipped however the loft had a broken fan, a ceiling fan that only turns slowly and a very ineffective window ac unit. It was extremely difficult to make the loft comfortable to sleep in. Two adults ended up sleeping on the sofa downstairs. I would also recommend that a Building number is provided in the address to make it easier to find. The pictures in the listing were accurate and the ocean view spectacular. We also found the condo’s beach gear quite useful. The only downside was the warm temperature upstairs. We had a great stay at Pali Ke Kua #241\. The location was great, easy to find, grounds were beautiful, beds were comfortable and the condo had everything we needed for a comfortable stay. Basic spices and oil in the cabinets. Things I wished I knew before: - #1 - Air conditioning was completely necessary! We had all 3 air conditioners on full blast when we were in the condo and couldn't maintain 75F - and it wasn't abnormally hot! The late sun shining in the windows and loft layout makes this a warm condo! We were comfortable with the air conditioners. - #2 - Beach. Okay - the "private beach access" is definitely private - the walk down is VERY steep. My husband and I (late 30s) and kids (8, 6) had no issues navigating it, but expect a leg workout on the way up, and careful steps on the way down. The beach is beautiful with course sand and black rock formations - and not another soul in sight! I would not say it is good for swimming, surfing, boogie boarding or snorkeling. #3 - the advertised "BBQ" is at the beach... meaning down that super steep hill I just mentioned... and they are charcoal grills, so you'll need to purchase and haul charcoal down the hill. No thanks. There are no other grills on the property. #4 - the pool and hot tub were clean and decently sized (not huge). The pool lights come on super late - way after sunset. #5 - skip the Hidaway Pizza and go to Tiki Pizza instead at the Hanalei bay resort. GREAT Pizza and views of the bay! ##### Courtney F.
