We arrived at sunset, delighted to find the cabin spotless, the air inside fresh and clean. We enjoyed how the light within shifted with the setting sun and then again with sunrise the next day. We had our morning coffees on the front deck to the sounds of nothing but birdsong, a whispery breeze, and leaves falling and touching down on the ground. It was so quiet, we could actually hear them landing. The trails around the property are fun to explore. We hiked up to the ridge and were stunned by the breathtaking panorama of the mountains in the distance and Clove Valley below. Yes, the property is in a residential neighborhood, but once you turn into its driveway, you’re pulled into a forested universe that feels remote and wild. The cabin was clean, cozy, and just the right size for two or three people.The space is minimalist, but so thoughtfully done and truly beautiful. If you’re looking for a peaceful spot to relax or a base for hiking, this is it. I especially loved that there was no TV—it really encouraged us to unplug. It feels remote enough to be quiet and relaxing, but still close enough to everything you might need.My boyfriend and I had a great time and a really positive experience. We experienced the best of the Hudson Valley. The woods, forest and property surrounding the cabin are endless and limitless. Hudson had the absolute time of her life, sniffing and exploring the property for hours, chasing deer, and relishing her good fortune. Hudson is an older dog, so I was both thrilled and thankful that I could give her this amazing experience. It was tremendous for me as well, walking peacefully and contemplative through the woods, climbing the mountain on the property, and enjoying the incredible views of the Hudson Valley. I am so thankful that I had this experience, even if it was just for three days. I would love to return in the fall. When we first drove up we thought we were in the wrong place. The exterior of the cabin and yard is a little rough and is a work in progress. The interior is as pictured in the listing. There are also trails as listed. As far as things to do around the cabin there is not a lot. You are situated inside a residential neighborhood and a grocery store, restaurants and the closest town is about 20 minutes. Overall it is a beautiful cabin tucked away in the woods. There’s only one reason I gave it 2 stars instead of 1, and that’s because the host meant well, but he either needs to never rent long-term or to make some significant repairs & improvements if he does.
