Villa Mitrea is a bright and elegant apartment located in the center of Positano. It sleeps six people. From Villa Mitrea you will enjoy a charming view of the sea, of Positano and of the Amalfi Coast. Villa Mitrea is 200 square meters (2150 square feet). It features a private jacuzzi pool, a spacious private terrace with a view of the sea, air conditioning (please read description below to check in which rooms the units are installed) and WI-FI Internet access. You will be in the heart of Positano, a few steps from restaurants and shops. You will find the stop for the Flavio Gioia bus interno Positano line a few meters (feet) away and the closest beach (Fornillo Beach) at roughly 600 meters (660 yards) including 270 stairway steps (other beaches with less steps to climb are also available in the area). You will reach Villa Mitrea from the street level going up approximately 50 stairway steps. You will not need a car to stay at Villa Mitrea. If you do have one, you will be able to park it downtown, for a fee, in a private parking lot. Please kindly note. The rental price includes: final cleaning; electricity; Wi-Fi Internet connection; linens, changed mid-week; towels, changed mid-week; maid service from Monday to Friday 2 hours each day.Available upon request: baby bed. Villa Mitrea is part of an old house in Positano which dates back to the eighteenth century. The house is located in the oldest and most typical area of Positano, consisting of white houses separated one from another by narrow streets and stairways and embellished by terraces rich in flowers and white masonry arches. Here the houses are built as if they were attached to the steep rocky coast. They all face the sun and the sea, forming that picturesque cluster of houses which render Positano so unmistakable! You will be halfway between the beach and the state coastal road in a great and convenient position to reach either on foot or by bus either of the places. The road below the villa is a one-way street run only by local cars and shuttles which take people from the lower to the upper part of Positano, which means from the beach and the pedestrian and shopping streets below to the national road up above. The elegant shopping streets and the beach can be easily reached as all you have to do is descend some pedestrian shortcuts. Taking the old ‘scalinatelle’ (public narrow streets actually consisting of stairways) of Positano is something not to be missed if your legs allow you to do so! By going through these narrow stairways, besides seeing all the tourist-visited places, you will be able to unveil enthralling angles of Positano. And then, once you have reached the lower part of the town on foot, you can always go up again by bus! Terrace The terrace is 30 square meters (320 square feet) large. It is partly shaded by an awning. It is equipped with a table, chairs, a sun umbrella and four sun loungers. From the terrace you will enjoy a fascinating view of the sea and of Positano. Verandah The verandah is 20 square meters (215 square feet) large. Is equipped with a long sofa and armchairs. From the verandah you will enjoy a gorgeous view of the sea and of the small Li Galli islands at a distance. Wellness room You will be able to enter the wellness room from the living room. It features an above-ground heated jacuzzi pool with hydromassage with six seats. The wellness room has a window with a view of the sea. Living Room You will be able to enter the living room from the verandah. The furnishings are modern and welcoming, and include two armchairs. There is a practical fireplace made of stone. The dining table can accommodate six guests. In this room you will find a flat-screen television (local channels). Kitchen You will be able to enter the kitchen from the living room through an arched opening. It is equipped with a five-burner gas cooker, a microwave/oven combo, a refrigerator with freezer, a dishwasher, an Italian-style coffee-maker and an American-style coffee-maker. Baldassare, the owner, chef, and host was amazing. Very attentive and helped with any question we had. The property is located in the perfect spot just up from the main road that goes through town right by the stairs leading down to the main beach. Couldn’t have been happier with the location. We spent every evening enjoying an aperitif on the amazing veranda with the most spectacular views. If you book you have to have the chef come and cook for you, incredible food and such a unique experience. The property has a very large balcony, with great views of the water and is significantly larger than most balconies from what I can tell. The hot tub (rare for a property in this location) also had views of the water. The property was located close to coffee, restaurants and pretty much anything you would need in Positano. Being less than 5 minutes walking distance to wonderful restaurants was a must have, considering the steepness of Positano in general and cost of taxis. 15 minutes walking distance to the heart of the shopping and beach, including ferries to nearby areas such as Amalfi. Please inquire about the private chef dinner. It was quite spectacular, with fresh food from the chef's farm and wine from his private collection including special aged wine. Quite an unforgettable experience and I would not consider staying anywhere else if this property were available for our next trip.
