The Stonehouse is truly unique and rare. It is a perfect blend of city life and woodland serenity. From your private patio, you can enjoy the enchantment of the forest. Spring and summer there are boulders covered with emerald green moss and flowers blooming, fall is vibrant with maple leaves everywhere, winter has its snow and frost. Just imagine sitting on a large mossy boulder engrossed in a good book, or swinging on an adult-sized swing and feeling like a carefree child again. Turn on the patio party lights and invite your friends over for a delightful dinner outdoors, sit by a crackling fire roasting marshmallows. After dinner, take a short walk up the path, located just above the driveway, to the lookout over Oregon City This gem is inside Waterboard Park, just above historic Oregon City (which won the 2018 Great American Main Street Award!). A garden path leads you to your private entrance. The living room has comfortable chairs perfect for curling up with a good book or watching your favorite show. If you’re into cooking or barbecuing, the kitchen is well stocked to get you started, including a convection oven and a full-size refrigerator. The gardens and grounds were magnificent and provided a lovely setting for us to play outside with our grandchildren and have all our family meals. The hosts were friendly, communicative, and professional. The kitchen and bathroom have recently been re-done. The decor is tasteful and is more spacious than the pictures make it look. This is the perfect peaceful getaway. The hosts were incredibly accommodating and happily provided any additional house/kitchen supplies we desired. They were kind and available while still giving us privacy. The backyard has a perfect patio and swing with views of the trees and forested area. The ideal place to watch the leaves turn during the fall. The place is a 10-15 minute walk from quaint downtown Oregon City and about a 30-minute drive from the city of Portland. There is a short hiking trail right off the driveway that is lovely for a stroll. We loved it and would absolutely book again! ##### Madeline E. We decided to book The Stonehouse based upon the unbelievably beautiful setting and appearance of the property, although we wondered: could this place be as amazing as it appears? What others said in prior reviews seemed to confirm what the pictures and description of the property conveyed. Now that we have stayed at the house, we can also say the same. If you are interested in a very quaint and private VRBO in an gorgeous natural setting, look no further! We found this property to be exceptionally clean with everything we could think of to make the stay comfortable and relaxing. The owners are impeccable hosts, working so hard to make your stay the best that it can be, interested in attending to every detail. The surrounding area is very walkable/hikeable and we enjoyed the park near the property, as well as walking to explore the surrounding area. The Stonehouse truly was a home away from home, but even better, as our back yard cannot compare to this one! ##### Rick H. The grounds are immaculate and tended to very lovingly. The apartment was stocked better than any VRBO we have stayed at in the past.. It also looked exactly like it was advertised. On the ridge above the Willamette River with views of the entire valley including all the area mountains and downtown Portland. Spectacular sunrises AND sunsets right from the property. Easy walking access to the view point (that you can also drive to) from a trailhead just by the driveway. There is a beautiful outdoor table with 6 chairs, a gas fire table with 4 cushioned chairs, a fire pit with several chairs around, a tire swing!!, flawless landscaping, and the mist goes on. The inside property is very clean with all the modern amenities and everything you could need. The hosts were very prompt in responding to any questions. They were also very kind in giving recommendations for other things to do and see while in the area. Highly recommend!! ##### miranda m.
