Villa Monte Canelas was constructed in 2009, it has a contemporary architecture and it is surrounded by a huge private garden. It has also 2 swimming pools being one for children. The pools are separated by a lounge wood area with 4 sun loungers and a outdoor 8 places sofa. There is a mobile gas barbecue and another charcoal barbecue. There is also a lunch table up to 10. It is composed by a unique ground floor comprising: A spacious sitting/ TV and dining room with a big LCD TV and several international channels, a DVD player with movies and Wii console and games and Hi-fi system It also has large glass sliding doors which access directly to the outside living/dining area, pool and garden. This villa is perfect to keep on eye on your children. The dinning inside and out table can sit up to 10. At the back side of the house there is a small herb garden where you can collect some spices and aromatic herbs used for cooking. The private parking area is able to 4 cars or even more The villa is located in the quiet Village approximately 5min from the Penina Golf hotel and from a huge comercial area. 3 Restaurants are near the villa (2 min). To the next beaches it is only a 10 minutes drive, as Alvor and Portimão. Sport/Leisure time: In a region with such a large ocean front, the Algarve offers almost every activity you can think of related to (the use of) water. Also for the ones who are not particularly keen to be in or around water, there are plenty of activities to spend a wonderful time in the Algarve! Shopping in Portimao: Portimao, the Algarve’s second biggest city, offers everything to make a shopping heart beat faster. In the historical centre there is a huge pedestrian area, narrow streets and several squares invite to wander around in good atmosphere. The kilometres long boulevard in front of the famous Praia da Rocha beach is packed with all sorts of shops. Along the Arade River, going land inwards from the Portimao Marina (harbour), another kilometres long boulevard is currently created, linking the Marina and Praia da Rocha with the historical centre. Several shopping malls, Lidl and Plus are to be found along the double lane access road to Praia da Rocha. Spread throughout the city, smaller supermarkets, butchers and bakeries complete the wide range of shopping possibilities Portimao has to offer. Almost all shops are open 7 days a week. Golf: Golf is definitively the most popular sport in the Algarve, no wonder when realising the climatological conditions all year round and the exceptional beauty of lay outs (most of them by famous international golf architects) and surroundings. Read below a selection of 4 excellent golf courses in your region out of the Algarve' approximately 35 golf courses; Palmares Course: the breathtaking scenery can be appreciated from most of the course, with views over the Alvor river estuary, beaches and the bay of Lagos. There are 5 authentic links holes amongst the dunes close to the ocean exposed to the prevailing winds. Other holes throughout hillsides and valleys full of trees. Penina Course: it has hosted the Portuguese open 8 times and is built on flattish parkland terrain with fairways lined by countless trees and with tricky water hazards. Also several long par-3 and par-4 holes, requiring both length and accuracy. Alto Course: it boasts a majestic site overlooking the ocean and with views inland towards the Monchique hills. Belle intérieur avec bcp d'espace, belle piscine bien entretenue, espace vert très beau, rien à dire. Nous étions très au calme , excellent si on recherche le repos. La climatisation était un vraie plus, car il a fait très chaud pendant notre séjour. Néanmoins je trouvais que c'était vraiment assez loin de la plage et de toute commodité ( pour ma part biensur) et le point qui ma vraiment déçu était la propriété. On paye quand même bcp d'argent pour que finalement on se retrouve avec une Villa bien sale, un sol qui nous a rendu les pieds noirs après 5min des notre arrivé. ##### Silvia O. La villa est très jolie, bien entretenue, très bien équipée. Un parfait "chez soi". La localisation est calme en ce séjour du mois d'avril. Les alentours sont riches en balades et découvertes. We bedanken Augusto voor het (weer) mogen gebruiken van zijn luxueuze villa. Een riant huis in een rustig gedeelte, 6 km van Portimao. En dat is dan ook de enige kritiek: je woont enigszins achteraf. Maar als je dat incalculeert dan heb je hier de hemel op aarde: enorm groot huis met 3 slaapkamers en 2 badkamers. Een riante keuken met uitgebreide uitrusting. Een houtskoolbarbecue én een gasbarbecue. Een schitterende tuin met daarin een geweldig zwembad met een klein bad ernaast voor de kleintjes. Kortom: een aanrader! ##### Frans V. El jardín es un paraíso, con árboles, plantas y la piscina. En El interior todo ayuda al descanso y el ocio. La única pega que señalar es que el lavavajillas no funciona bien lo que supone una incómoda circunstancia pero muy fácil de solventar. La finca está situada en una urbanización tranquila y cercana a playas, supermercados y restaurantes. Han sido unas vacaciones magníficas. We had a fantastic week here with our two children aged 8 and 4 . We paid to have the pool heated which was well worth it even in August. The pool was great - lots of pool toys as well which was a bonus! Lots of space to relax and cook. The gardens were amazing, lots of beautiful plants and mature trees. The property is so secure for children with high hedges and gated so you weren’t ever worried that they could wander off! Inside the villa the rooms are large, there are spacious bedrooms and it was so clean and comfortable. We actually didn’t want to leave the villa on some days! It is only 20mins drive from Lagos which is worth a visit , the sea kayaking is great there. Only 10 mins drive from plenty of supermarkets in Portimao. The property was the perfect size for us and very easy access with it all across one level. The gardens and pool are impeccably maintained and having the pool heated was perfect to mean we could enjoy the water for long periods without ever feeling cold for the kids (or adults!). The only drawback on the property is the layout, with the well-equipped kitchen being a little small and on the opposite side of the villa to where you will eat (assuming you are eating outside). Nearby, the beaches a short drive are good and there are a few 'local' restaurants, which can be walked to, although not really with children. The roads don't have pavements and it's a mile at least to the closest one. The one we tried was very good Overall, very pleasant week and excellent value. Would recommend. During this stay me and my fiancé got married at a nearby resort. We wanted something special and we got that and more with the villla. It’s exceptional. The villa has 4 lovely bedrooms including a suite with a walk in wardrobe and separate bathroom. The kitchen has all you need with all the mod cons, coffee machine, large fridge and freezer. The outside of the property is where you spend most of your time either on a sun lounger or sat on the outdoor furniture whilst enjoying the sun. There is two pools, one children’s and one a bit deeper. We opted to have the main pool heated and it made a difference. The gardens are well looked after and he pool guy comes most days to clean the pool. Check in and check out very easy. The villa is situated about 12km from the centre of Alvor but it’s a simple journey and easily accessible if you have a car and takes about 10mins. Nothing more to say other than thank you for providing such an amazing Villa. ##### Michael D. Es war ein unvergesslicher Aufenthalt. Wir haben uns sehr wohl gefühlt. Stets wurden wir liebevoll betreut. Jeder Wunsch wurde umgehend erfüllt bzw. schnellstens Handwerker bestellt, wenn ein kleines Problem auftrat. Die blütenweiße Bettwäsche und sauberen Handtücher wurden wöchentlich gewechselt. Es hat sich ein sehr herzlich-freundschaftliches Verhältnis zu den fürs Housekeeping verantwortlichen Damen, Betinha und Laura, aus der Familie des Besitzers entwickelt. Im Winter war es wegen der gut funktionierenden Klimaanlage/Heizung angenehm warm im Haus. Das Kaminholz stand zur freien Verfügung. Deutsche Fernsehprogramme wurden für uns wunschgemäß zuvor installiert. Der Internetzugang war zuverlässig. Erwähnenswert sind die hervorragenden Betten und das sehr bequeme Sofa im Wohnbereich. Die Küche ist ausreichend ausgestattet. Die Bäder sind zwar stylisch, aber das Duschen in der Wanne und die Reinigung war etwas umständlich. Gerne haben wir uns im Lounchbereich auf der Terrasse aufgehalten. Der Garten wird akribisch gepflegt. Die Auflagen der Gartenliegen dürften jedoch erneuert werden. Alles in allem haben die 5 Sterne jedoch ihre Berechtigung. Gerne verbringen wir den nächsten Winter wieder in dem gastlichen Haus und freuen uns schon jetzt darauf. ##### Hannelore O.
