Old world meets modern luxury in the heart of Port Townsend. Just three blocks from downtown, and two blocks from the historic uptown center with shops, restaurants, and a renowned farmers market. Charming three bedroom, two bath in an 1879 Victorian home that was converted into three apartments in 1949.

Wander the wonderful neighborhood that is chalk-a-block with historic homes or take the kids to one of the two parks within walking distance.

You'll have a fully furnished apartment with two queens bedrooms and a double single bedroom, a widescreen TV and cable and a full kitchen to cook local veggies and meats from Aldrich's Market, just up the street.

High quality linens, bubble bath, & soap supplied.


We have a crib/pack-n-play upon request and have no minimum age of guests, as we are family friendly.

The apartment is on the first floor of the Victorian.
There are three additional units on the property, one other vacation rental and two private residences.

  • An inveterate fantasm purportedly haunts this house, or at least one of its windows. When viewed just right from about one spot on the entire planet, the first dark window you see to the right of the central structure appears to reveal a woman sitting in her chair. To the more jaded eye, it would seem that a large flaw in the ancient glass happens to line up very nicely with a large, stuffed chair directly behind the window. No matter. People come from miles around to scare the bejeezus out of themselves by lining up precisely where the apparition can see them and shrieking in delight. However, few of them will actually stay at the "boutique hotel" contained within. Which is probably why the owner is looking to sell it. If you like company, but are not overly fond of money, you might drop by and make him an offer.

What a wonderful place to stay. I’ve stayed here many many times with family and friends over the last seven years. It’s just marvelous. It’s close to downtown, fun shopping, restaurants, and walks along the waterfront. The hosts are kind and easy to get a hold of. The house is clean, and accommodates a large family. I’ll be back lots in the future.

Great spot

With bedrooms on each end of the house, and a door in the kitchen in the middle, you can have literally 3 closed doors between you and your kids when you sleep --amazing! The house itself is pretty typical of these older Port Townsend properties, in that it's quite old and that shows in the condition of the place. That said, it's nicely furnished and decorated, and overall perfectly fine if you know what you're getting into. The location is fantastic. No problems at all with communication from the host, everything went smoothly.

We are a grandmother, daughter and adult grandkids visiting Port Townsend for the first time. The lodging at People's House could not have been better! Everything about it suited us perfectly and was exactly as advertised..... Location, accurate photos, comfortable spaces for 4 adults and deer in the yard every day! Super charming accommodations! Would love to return!

A Weekend Trip to Port Townsend

Extremely comfortable and in a very quiet and convenient location. We particularly enjoyed the large, glassed-in sun porch and the colors of the painted surfaces in the various rooms. Everything worked as expected.The property manager was extremely responsive when the WiFi stopped working. She communicated immediately with us by text and and gave us frequent text updates. She then called on the phone after the system was working just to be sure that everything was OK.We would definitely stay here again and would consider sharing the apartment with friends or relatives.

A wonderful stay

Everything that we could think of needing had been provided, even down to the night light. The beds were comfortable and the area was delightfully quiet. In the morning we sat in the sun room drinking tea and watching the deer have their breakfast on the verge. What a wonderful way to start the day!I own an older home with creaky floors, so I was very surprised and impressed with how quiet these floors are. The next time we're in Port Townsend we hope to stay here again.

Easy stay

We had a lovely stay with our 3 kids (7,4,2). The place was close to everything. Our 7 yr old loved having her own tv . Other highlights: uno and an outdoor swing. It was quiet and there was plenty of space to spread out.

Great for three long time friends

We really enjoyed having our own bedrooms. We gifted 4 drink glasses and two wine stems because we thought the glass wear was inadequate. The oven temperature knob had nothing on it but we figured out how to use the thermometer in the oven. It seemed like the refrigerator opened the opposite way but it is a Victorian so I’m sure that was the only way to fit it into a kitchen remodel. A nicer kitchen table would have been appreciated. Kelly was courteous, prompt and helpful with a circuit breaker problem in the back of the house affecting two bedrooms and one bathroom. We advised her by text of a broken handle on the bathtub they’ve tried to fix (but I figured out how to baby it) and a malfunctioning toilet in the master bedroom. I’m sure these are all being addressed. Overall we three had a wonderful time in the People’s House.

So much fun!

Convenient location. Walking distance to town. Huge house. Two full bathrooms. Three bedrooms one with twin beds. This is just the most wonderful place to come with friends and family. I enjoy it so much. Kelly, the manager is awesome. I’ve only had a minor issue once in all the years I’ve stayed here and Kelly hand immediately. She is always available. As always I will be back 3 times next year!
