Upon arrival there was water damage all inside the home. The ceiling was on the floor from the amount of water damage. The toilet paper was soaking wet, there was dirt and debris throughout all the window ledgers from dried up water, in addition to no power upon arrival. The host doesn't live in the country and the person managing for the host was nearly impossible to get in touch with. Since I had an a skilled worker there, they kept trying to get him to buy materials to fix the house while residing there. NOT IMPRESSED AT ALL, IT WAS A HORRIBLE EXPERIENCE ##### Christine M. The bikes at this property were great. We rode around the neighborhood looking at the beautiful views. I think there was a new property manager there and it was hard to contact him sometimes. The home is well provisioned with everything needed and there were many empty closets, drawers and areas to store clothing, groceries and our own kitchen items. The heated pool and lanai are very comfortable with lovely views in a very quiet and friendly neighborhood. Very little traffic made walking and biking very pleasant. One note: the dishwasher leaked and did not clean very well so we did not use it after one time. This was not a big deal for us. Caretaker is aware and hopefully it will be replaced/repaired soon. Séjour de 28 nuits en janvier 2022 ### 4/10 – Médiocre #### FREDERICK w., deltona,fl 28 nov. 2021 Points faibles : Propreté #### shameful we paid for a heated pool. emailed owner a week before are arrival & he said the pool will be heated & the grill cleaned . when we got there the pool heater wasn"t working, we called the care taker as instructed on check-in information. he said he knew the pool heater wasn"t working he told the owner before are arrival so both of them lied to us before we got there. care taker said he can"t do anything the owner lives in switzerland and won"t come to fix anything wrong in the house. five days later a pool person came over and told us the pool needs a new heater. also paid for cleaning when we arrived there was dead cockroaches all around inside the house. worst of all dog hairs in are beds and on the sofas, stains on all the carpets. we knew ahead of time instructions are in german we thought that would be changed by now but no so you don"t now when to put the garbage out. the tv is direct tv only some channels. we wanted to use the double oven for are thanksgiving cooking but you aren"t allowed to use the bottom oven. sheets and towels are stained,ripped and not matching. many dishes chipped. very rusty electric grill and outside furniture. missing light bulbs around the house and hall smoke detector battery. large crack in ceiling of living room/ din. room area. in the entryway large plant dusty as are all the ceiling fans, not good for my sons allergies. we emailed owner and he said he would refund are money for the pool not heated. so far not received anything yet. ##### FREDERICK w. Beautiful home, beautiful, quiet area. Internet access is slow, but I know the area, and that's all they have available. I really only used this as a place to sleep, which was a shame, because it would've been a beautiful place to spend time with family and friends, especially if you want to visit the local beaches, parks, and etc - but don't want to be in crowded, over-priced spaces in the middle of the tourist traps. As soon as we opened the front door, we were impressed with this place! Wow! We loved the sliding window walls which made it feel as though we were living partly inside and partly outside. There are floor tiles throughout, carpet in the 3 bdrms. (Carpets are a bit worn as are the comfy couches). We enjoyed meals in the lanai during the day & by candlelight at night! The sound of the river and being by or in the pool was relaxing. It was such fun being able to fish in the back yard off the sea wall and we caught several mangrove snapper! We brought our own poles but there were some available at the house. The bait shop was a few miles away, just after crossing the El Jobean bridge. We liked the casual atmosphere, unique setting, good food, and live music at the “Bean Cafe and Depot” just across from the bait shop in El Jobean! The nearest grocery store, liquor store, nail and hair salon, and UPS store etc are 4.6 miles away. Across the bridge and into El Jobean and Port Charlotte are many stores and restaurants about 7 miles from the house. Englewood and Venice are within a half hour and offer beautiful beaches and many more eating and entertainment options. We cooked and ate in the house often as the kitchen is so spacious and very well organized with just about everything we needed. We had friends come on Christmas Day and there was plenty of room for more than one cook in the kitchen and space to prep meals! We have a kayak and were able to lower it into the canal at the sea wall! (Also we appreciated the extra room in the garage where we could park the trailer.) We enjoyed the exploring the neighborhood and the Myakka River (which looks more like a big lake) by kayak, on our walks and bike rides thanks to the beach bikes in the garage! The TV has a basic DISH package so not a lot of choices of channels, however there is a DVD player with a small selection of DVD’s available and we had a laptop from which we streamed the things we wanted to watch using an HDMI cable. The heating and cooling worked very well. We loved that all 3 bedrooms had king sized, comfortable beds in them!! The office was fine for my husband to be able to work remotely from. The desk top was a bit high ergonomically-speaking, but a couple TV trays solved that! (& There is a full sized Murphy bed in that room). Overall, this home was perfect for us & we hated to leave! ##### Debbie D. Local property manager answered any questions we had and even unlocked the house for us one day we managed to lock ourselves out...Kitchen was well equipped, although the oven had a lot of baked on grease when we arrived. This was easily fixed since it was a self cleaning oven. Quiet, attractive neighborhood not far from great restaurants, beaches, boat trips, etc. Plenty of towels provided. Even had pool noodles and beach buckets. Prompt damage deposit refund processed through VRBO. Excellent wifi, limited TV channels (does have Hallmark). ##### Deborah H.
