Getting Around: Make sure to get your beach parking sticker from major retailers before hitting the beach. Other Things to Note: Water Heater 'ON' switch is located next to the kitchen sink. Crystal Beach is reachable by ferry and bridge. Travelers from Houston take Interstate 45 to Galveston, then take the free Galveston-Bolivar Ferry on a 20-minute ride to Port Bolivar, where the Bolivar Lighthouse rises 117 feet above sea level. It's then 10 miles to Crystal Beach. For the bridge route, take Highway 124 from Winnie south to Highway 87, turn right, and proceed to Crystal Beach.
