Just an absolutely beautiful place inside and out. Wonderful to have the chickens and rabbits on site. There is a bit of a problem with some very loud neighbouring dogs.

My other half wanted to write the review. This is it…. My stunning wife brought me to the Açores on our yearly trip where she takes me away for my birthday. I was stunned when we landed and started driving around this beautiful island; my ancestors home. At the time, I still did not know where we were staying as my wife keeps most details a secret until we get there. When we pulled up to the windmill we were absolutely blown away. The location, the views, the landscape, the WINDMILL! This property is gorgeous from the gate to the ocean. Absolutely breath taking! The cherry on top was the love and thought put into creating the breakfast baskets brought to the door every morning. They are absolutely next level in every way! We brought it with us on one of our trips and had an amazing brunch at terra nostra gardens. We are in love with the Acores and especially with the windmill. We will be back, Soon! And there is only one place we will stay…..the Windmill!

Amazing little house with everything you need for a relaxing stay in a beautiful natural island. The location is stunning, we loved also the garden which is beautiful. But most of all, the breakfast is fantastic and the host is very attentive to every need. I would definitely go back!

The property was beautiful, clean and safe. There was ample parking. The scenery was beautiful with ocean views. Grocery and town all walkable with natural sea pool also close by. The communication from staff was great. Excellent breakfast provided each day which was a really nice bonus with local foods/produce.

The property was wonderful to explore - a lush, private garden with walkways and a pen of adorable bunnies which you can feed. The proprietor was friendly - shook an avocado tree to get us it's fruit, shared oranges grown on the property. I highly recommend this property for anyone wanting to feel safe and secure while having a premium truly authentic and unique local experience.

The house is in a beautiful location with a great view at the sea and the gardens. Well equipped, clean and comfortable, within a short distance to the airport. Large basket of wonderful food for breakfast made the beginning of each day highly inspiring. It would be almost perfect if the internet worked well - frequent (every two minutes) made the communication quite difficult - possibly easy to repair.

A bit of Paradise

This was my favorite of the 3 places we stayed on Sao Miguel. I received directions on how to get in to the property and the unit. The unit was a perfect mix of modern and quaint. The property was beautiful, with a view of the ocean, lovely gardens, and the sound of a wide variety of birds. Each morning, we received an ample basket of breakfast items which was such a wonderful touch. This is surely at the top of the best places to be on Sao Miguel. Great memories!

This booking was the most disappointing of all of the places that we stayed on our three week trip to the Azores and Madeira. We ran into several issues with the equipment on the site. We had to resolve all of our issues ourselves - from doing additional cleaning when we arrived to fixing the internet. There are many places in the Azores run by local people who are very gracious and kind. This is not one of them. I would also add that the pictures from bookings misrepresent the units. There are several stone building units, only one with an ocean view - ours was essentially a dark damp space mostly below ground.

Die Ferienhäuser sind sehr hübsch, die Betten bequem und man findet alles was man braucht (außer einen Schneebesen). Leider gibt es in den Häusern ein Problem mit der Feuchtigkeit was man auch riecht - dies hat unseren Urlaub jedoch nicht beeinflusst. Das Frühstück war super, es gab jeden Tag eine Korb gefüllt mir Brötchen, Weißbrot, Marmelade, Nutella, Butte, Frischkäse, Käse, Wurst, Obst und Gemüse, Gebäck, Joghurt Müsli / Cornflakes und jeden 2ten Tag auch Croissants. Das Frühstück wurde jeden Früh gegen 8:00 Uhr ins Haus gestellt. Die Kommunikation mit den Gastgebern via Mail und WhatsApp war einfach nur hervorragend - vielen Dank hierfür. Die Lage war für uns perfekt, allerdings wären wir ohne Mietwagen ziemlich aufgeschmissen gewesen. Es gibt in der näheren Umgebung (ca. 500m) einen Supermarkt mit einer recht guten Auswahl an Lebensmitteln und eine Tankstelle. Unser Fazit: Wir würden wiederkommen, vielleicht ja mal im Sommer wenn der Pool nutzbar ist.

Weitläufige Anlage mit extra viel Charme und wirklich außergewöhnlichem Ambiente, die Bilder im Web werden übertroffen, sehr freundliches Personal, allerdings keine Rezeption - dafür sehr schnellen Kontakt und Austausch via whatsapp. 15min vom Flughafen und Hauptstadt aber im Grünen und ruhig. Zentral gelegen für Ausflugsziele. Hervorragendes Frühstück. Würde sofort wieder dahin gehen!

Die Anlage ist ein Traum. Es ist alles wunderschön bepflanzt und sehr gepflegt. Drei Tage vor Ankunft bekommt man die Codes für die Anlage und das Haus. Es wurde jeden Tag gereinigt und das tägliche Frühstück im Körbchen ist eine ganz besondere Idee. Wir kommen sehr gern wieder - herzlichen Dank

Great Place to be

We stayed for a few days in April in Moinho das Freteiras. It is a wonderful place at a great location. The apartment itself feels brand new with everything you need. Beds are very comfortable. From the balcony of the bedroom and the garden you have a direct look at the ocean. The house is surrounded by a very well maintained garden. The apartment has its own garden where one can sit, have a meal or drink and rest in the quiet atmosphere of the garden right in front of the ocean. There is a breakfast service included in our booking - every morning we received a well stocked basked with a delicious full breakfast. The apartment is located just 20mins away from the airport and at the same time at a very quiet area - and well positioned for any trip or exploration to the mountains or other parts of the island. The hosts are easy to reach and quick responding to any issue you might have. We would surely return.

Die drei Wohneinheiten liegen nicht zu dicht beieinander, man hat genügend Privatsphäre. Die Lage und Aussicht von Mo de Cima ist einzigartig.
