The villa is perfectly located on the western tip of the island offering guests easy access to both the north and south coasts of São Miguel with popular nearby destinations including the iconic “Monasteries” Basalt Rock Formations, Sete Cidades: Miradouro da Vista do Rei, and Miradouro da Boca do Inferno (most photographed location in all of the Azores) and the thermal pools of Ponta da Ferraria. Dedicated to providing a peaceful and comfortable stay, Casa Estrela do Mar features an array of amenities, including on-call concierge services, private gated driveway parking, top-notch furniture, bedding, towels, climate control, a fully equipped kitchen with a Nespresso Machine, high-speed wireless internet, cable television, telescope/binoculars, original local artwork, a collection of Azorean-themed literature, laundry facilities, and an outdoor Portuguese Churrascaria (BBQ kitchen). For Summer 2024, the villa anticipates an upgrade in bedding ensuring an extra comfortable rest for up to 8 adult guests, with a new queen-sized bed in the first floor master and two twins in the adjacent bedroom and on the second floor, a queen sized bed in one room and two twins in the other. Casa Estrela do Mar is a peaceful home, ideal for guests seeking rest and close contact with nature. We kindly ask you to respect the environment and the neighbors by avoiding excessive noise, especially at night. Please note that the house includes steps and outdoor areas, and is not wheelchair accessible. A minimum stay of 5 nights is required. All bedrooms are equipped with air conditioning, and we provide bed linens, towels, and basic toiletries for your comfort. The Wi-Fi connection is reliable and suitable for both remote work and leisure. Free private parking is available on-site. Mosteiros is a small and charming village with local restaurants and grocery stores nearby. We recommend bringing any specific items you may need during your stay, as options can be limited. We keep things simple — just a few rules to help ensure a comfortable stay for everyone: • No smoking inside the house. If you smoke, please do so outside. • Garbage: please do not leave trash inside. Use the public bins nearby. • Save energy: turn off the lights whenever you leave the house. • Respect the neighbors: quiet hours in Portugal are from 23:00 to 7:00\. You’re on holiday, but people around you are not — thank you for being considerate. • Safety first: always lock the door when entering or leaving the house. • No pets allowed. • No parties or events are allowed. • Towels: white towels are for bathroom use only. For three weeks we stayed at properties throughout Portugal and this home was the only one that felt like we were guests in a real home. The property has everything one could ask for \~ a fully stocked kitchen, a beautifully decorated interior, comfortable furnishings, outdoor furniture and umbrellas, a BBQ grill, a washer & dryer, comfortable beds, books, TV (which we did not use), a telescope, etc. The location within the town was perfect. The house faces an incredible ocean view of massive waves crashing on a rocky coast. Within minutes, you could walk to markets, restaurants, other view sites, the town square, etc. The neighborhood felt totally safe. The location within the island was exceptional. I don't think that there's another location on the island that offers the same proximity to the ocean, natural hot baths, and the famous extinct volcano crater Lagoa das Sete Cidades. The town of Mosteiros, within which the property lies, is a good 45-minute drive along a pretty windy two-lane road. Drivers are courteous and have patience with those unfamiliar with the area. Driving our 8-passenger van was a bit challenging on some drives and within narrow side streets during some of our excursions. Enjoy! ##### Paul B. The location of this property was fantastic. You can easily walk to great restaurants including O Americo, Sunset Steve’s Bar, and Seaside Vibez. Also an easy walk to the market, where you can purchase everything you need. You can also walk to the natural piscinas (swimming holes) and Mosteiros beach. If you’re looking for a relaxing time, this is a great location. The property itself served our basic needs. Spacious and equipped with four bedrooms, two bathrooms, and 3 showers (one being the outdoor shower, which we loved!). Having access to a washer/ dryer was also great! The linens were very clean/ new. The view and outdoor space of the property is unmatched! Few little minor things. The beds were ok- not the most comfortable but good enough! One bedroom upstairs had a very squeaky/ old frame which we could not sleep on because it was so loud. Overall, we loved the house and location! Would recommend! ##### Michelle G. Beach and shopping bags were also in every room. The property manager was very responsive. We took advantage of the outdoor shower which has a view of the N Atlantic (very cool).
