Easy walk to the beach and any and all shops, restaurants. Condo itself was spacious and clean, had every thing needed. The apartment itself was very nice—clean, tidy, and well located, with easy access to town and amenities. It offered a comfortable place to relax after long days out, and we appreciated the effort put into maintaining the unit itself.However, our overall experience at the resort complex was disappointing. Unfortunately, due to excessive sargassum (seaweed), we weren’t able to enjoy the beach at all, which was a major reason for choosing a summer getaway in this location. As a result, we spent a significant amount of additional money to access beach clubs, visit Xcaret, and take a trip to Cozumel in order to enjoy the sun and sea.The resort itself is in desperate need of maintenance and renovation. Paint is peeling everywhere, tiles are cracked or broken, and wood structures are warped or rotting. The concept of the resort—especially the rooftop pool and entertainment area—is fantastic in theory, but it’s clear that it has not been maintained to match its potential. Sadly, it now feels outdated and run-down in comparison to newer, modern alternatives.Despite these challenges, we still managed to enjoy our vacation by exploring the surrounding area and making the best of our time. We recently stayed at this condo over spring break with our family and were absolutely delighted by the experience. The condo itself is not only very nice but also incredibly spacious, easily accommodating our family and making us feel at home. One of the highlights was the pool and deck located above the condo, which provided a wonderful private space for relaxation and family fun. The location of the condo is unbeatable. It’s a mere 30-second walk to the beach, making it effortless to go back and forth throughout the day. Whether we wanted to catch the sunrise, enjoy a quick swim, or watch the sunset, the beach was always just a moment away. Additionally, the main shopping area is within a 2-minute walk. This area is bustling with life, offering an array of bars, shops, and restaurants. We were spoilt for choice when it came to dining and shopping, and the convenience of having everything so close was a huge plus. The area felt safe, welcoming, and perfectly suited for families looking to enjoy both the tranquility of the beach and the vibrancy of the local community. Our stay was nothing short of wonderful, and we highly recommend this place to any family looking for a memorable and enjoyable beach getaway. Condo was perfect for us and our extended family. We had 6 people and it was plenty of room. The rooftop was very nice to have to relax. The plunge pool was chilly so we only dipped our feet in, but that is to be expected until the weather gets hot. We used the complex pool daily. A short walk to the beach and to 5th avenue it was a perfect location. Only giving check in process a 3 out of 5 because it should have been very easy as the process was outlined very clearly, but when we showed up the condo wasn’t ready. Check in time is 4pm and it was not ready until 6 pm. That was the only frustration we experienced and we communicated that with the host asap so they realized what was going so they could address the issue in hopes that it doesn’t happen again. The host is very responsive. I am a very organized person and had quite a few questions before we arrived and they were always quick to respond! ##### Kayla H. I booked a different room the first time and absolutely loved it, with no problems. So for my second trip, I knew I wanted to stay at Aldea Thai again. The location is safe and close to all the great restaurants, beaches and nightlife. The only issues I had was the smell coming from the master bedrooms toilet. I had management come check it out and tend to the issue but the smell never went away. In addition to that, every time we walked into the resort, the doormen loved giving my friends a hard time. For some reason the young kid at the front always had an issue with us, especially when I asked for advice or directions. In addition the host was very nice, but when I asked for assistance or reservations (like she advised I do), I would not receive a response until the next day. The condominium itself was also beautifully maintained and the rooftop terrace with plunge pool was the icing on the cake. Our stay would’ve been perfect had it not been for the awful smell of sewage that came from the bathrooms in two of the bedrooms. It was really difficult to stay in the bedrooms, let alone sleep. The management was very attentive and came out to address the issue, but it persisted for three of the seven days we were there.. It was apparent that this was not a new problem for them They had various deodorizers and incense around the unit to try to disguise the smell. I’m not sure if it’s unique to this unit or a more pervasive problem for the property itself. I would definitely consider staying here again if this problem is addressed. ##### Robert E.
