La plage aux transats sous les palmiers et c’était une merveille. Assez peu de personnes s’y rendent en mai, on a donc l’embarras du choix de sa place. Et quasiment personne ne prend cette sale habitude de réserver son emplacement avec sa serviette, on peut même changer régulièrement d’emplacement en fonction du soleil. Les extérieurs de l’hôtel sont extraordinaires avec cette jungle luxuriante qui occupe les différentes résidences. La nourriture est délicieuse et variée pour une semaine avec ses 5 ou 6 restaurants. Bien que la piscine soit très vaste, elle est problématique. D’abord, plusieurs profondeurs mal renseignées la jalonnent et limitent sa fréquentation pour les non nageurs comme moi. Ensuite, l’eau y très chaude, beaucoup trop même. J’ignore si c’est dû au soleil ou si elle est chauffée mais il serait bon d’y créer des endroits à l’ombre. Mais surtout, et c’est une remarque que je ferais pour l’ensemble de l’hôtel, la musique y est constante de 10:00 à 17:00 et je parle de musique de nightclub, pas de musique lounge… Sans parler des animateurs qui hurlent en permanence par dessus. Très pénible si on veut se reposer ou lire un bouquin. Idem, tous les restaurants déversent une playlist clubbing très rude le matin au petit déjeuner. Même la jungle est sonorisée par une boucle de nappes synthétiques dont les enceintes peinent à délivrer un son sans saturation. Sur ce point, le Catalonia Playa Maroma devrait drastiquement revoir sa copie.

Personnels très agréable, loin de la ville de Playa del Carmen environ 25mn en taxi pour 800 pesos allez-retour. Malheureusement si vous voulez être au calme malheureusement beaucoup trop d'enfants qui crient et pleurent toute la journée. La nourriture est excellente avec choix à la carte.

Nous avons passé un excellent séjour. Le service est de qualité. Les restaurants sont bons. Il y a toujours des animations à la piscine. La plage est très belle. L’architecture nous rappelle vraiment que nous sommes au Mexique contrairement à la plupart des hôtels.

Globalement, j'ai adoré mon passage au Catalonia Privileged Maroma - All Inclusive. Le plus grand point positif reste selon moi l'importance accordée à la conservation de l'aspect «nature». Entre le lobby, les chambres et la piscine/plage, le passage te donne l'impression d'être pratiquement dans la jungle. Il n'est pas rare de croiser des animaux sauvages comme des Coatis, des Ratons et même des singes. Les restaurants sont très bons aussi. Le seul point négatif est que, chaque soir, il y a des attentes interminables (1h à 1h30) pour tous les restaurants à la carte et aucun système de réservation n'est possible. Sinon, une autre déception a été la plage. Comme c'était ma première fois au Mexique, je ne sais pas si c'est en raison de la période de l'année à laquelle j'ai été, mais il y avait énormément d'algues dans l'eau et sur la plage. Tout de même, je garde un très bon souvenir de mon séjour à cet hôtel et je le recommanderais d'une note de 7 sur 10.

The property was very clean and overall quieter atmosphere. It was perfect for our family with 2 little toddlers (3&4 y/o). the walk down to the beach through the jungle was really nice. The food could've been better. that was our only negative comment we had regarding this resort, however there were lots of options to choose from which kept us full. on the last day there was lots of seaweed build up on the shore and in the water, which isn't the fault of the resort. staff are nice and friendly. We had a great time and so did the kids by the pool. We would recommend to family and friends. we were in bed by 8 so can't comment on the night life.

I liked the food and bar staff. One thing I don’t like is the room bathroom did not have vent and spray so it was very stinky and hot. Our room cleaning isn’t done everyday even though we put the sign out and when we were back in the room late afternoon room still isn’t clean. The room service food is limited and not good.

Es la segunda vez que estoy en México la primera fue en otro resort y fue 10/10, pero este lugar deja mucho que desear NO VOLVERIA ! No es un lugar que quieres llevar tus hijos, la comida es un 4/10 no sirven chicken nuggets/fries o comida que normalmente un niño coma, las Cucarachas estaban por los vegetales ! Overall great experience at Catalonia. I really could not come up with anything negative to say other than We did have AC issues in our room but the staff went above and beyond to get us into a new room. Food was great. Plenty of dining options. Make sure you book reservations when you Arrive to guarantee a spot. Pool is huge and there are plenty of chairs by the pool and beach. Entertainment team is great as well!! I would recommend this resort and will be back!!

First thing first… beach is absolutely beautiful. Palm trees not palapa. Check was easy and efficient. Rooms. Clean, bright and well equipped. Shout out all the hard working housekeepers.(be sure to tip them) Service was extremely lacking. Felt like they were understaffed. Never booked restaurants but was easy accessible with hotel app. Buffet service was underwhelming, rarely got asked if I wanted water(when we did get it was not cold). Line ups at all times for meal to get in. Food was average typical all inclusive (they need to teach them how to crack eggs for buffet scramble has shells in every one I had for 4 days). Drink service at beach very hit and miss, easier to just get up and get your self. Best coffee is at the lobby bar not the coffee shop. All in all a peaceful, quiet, safe resort with beautiful surroundings and great walkable beach

We loved staying at Catalonia!! The drinks were great, the food was great, the service was great!! Everyone was super friendly and went above and beyond to help us when we needed it! 10/10 would recommend to anyone thinking about staying at Catalonia, I will definitely be coming back and encouraging others to do so as well! My only two issues were: the rooms didn’t cool down as much as we would have liked them to (but it wasn’t a huge issue) and the restaurants were all reserved by the time we got checked in on a Tuesday, so we only had the chance to try the Japanese restaurant.

We had a great time at Catalonia Playa Maroma. This was our first all inclusive, so can’t really compare to other resorts. The beach is very nice and I feel it is a great value for the money! Only complaint is we wish the pool was open later. Closed at 8 PM so no night swimming and we also would have liked some conditioner in the shower. Overall, had a great visit and would stay again! Special thanks to Roosevelt and Pierre who went above and beyond to make our stay special!

Very affordable Mexico all inclusive. Property is well kept; in excellent condition. Chairs in beach area are spaced under large palm trees, instead of lined up in pairs under umbrellas. This made it easy to move them into sun or shade as desired, and easily rearranged if you are traveling with a family or group. Property has a very natural feel, with paths through native jungle & lots of wildlife. Villas are spaced throughout property rather than lined up along the beach, giving each a very private feel. As is typical, buffet food quality was mid, but specialty restaurants and snack bars were great. The entertainment staff is hyped, leading everything from Aqua Zumba to foam parties to morning yoga on the beach to rounding up guests for beach volleyball to evening musical shows. None of them are going to Broadway, but their smiles and youthful enthusiasm stole our hearts. All staff incredibly friendly and welcoming. Feels quiet and remote, but excursions available to day trip to local attractions, Jetski rental, snorkel trips, etc. We definitely plan on returning!

We had a lovely stay at this resort. Food and drinks were great, beach was nice although there was seaweed. Loved all the food options, buffet, food trucks, dinner restaurants, smoothie bar, and crepes during the day! Only issue is the pool. Have to get there around 9am for a spot, and since there’s only one pool, it’s connected with activities and kids area so it’s not the place to relax/read a book as it’s pretty loud. The resort itself was always clean, staff always very friendly, would recommend this resort to anyone!

The staff at this resort provided the best customer service that I’ve ever received in Mexico. Fernando and Elena at the lobby bar. Henry at the Beach Bar. Constania with the Ground Management. Carolina at reception. Angel greeting in the lobby. Jose helped with the bags and getting us safely into the car. Some name I have forgotten but every single person was awesome. The food at the dinner restaurants was good. The buffet was your average buffet food but it was not bad. There is always something to eat. The grounds were beautifully kept. The pool was good - not very big but also not crowded. The beach was beautiful!! Lots a trees and plenty of lounge chairs!

Everything was almost wonderful. Only problem we had was our AC, staff immediately came to fix it but it was the same after. We didn’t bother with it because we were rarely ever in there but it was fat at night

A very good vacation experience, advantages: beautiful seaside, bar in the pool, coatis everywhere, enthusiastic staff, tropical rainforest-like scenery, delicious restaurants. Disadvantages: The toilet has no ventilation, no comb, and serious mosquito bites

Catalonia Playa Maroma is located on the most beautiful beach! The wedding we attended was beautifully done! The service and staff were great! The facilities did have a lot of bug & some cockroaches, however, this is to be expected in an indoor-outdoor living concept. The property does also require reservations for all of the restaurants, except the buffet. Overall, our experience at Catalonia Playa Maroma was amazing & we really enjoyed the resort!
