Alghero is a gem of a town in Sardinia, surrounded by beautiful nature: sandy beaches, coves and pine forests.. We went there at the end of September and the weather was warm enough to swim, without the crowds. The sun was not scorching, so it was doable to rent bikes and cycle along the hilly but tranquil roads overlooking the sea. With Fertillia a very short walk away with some local bars with good quality reasonably priced food and beer. Alghero an easy walk or bus ride away. (105 reviews) Nice hotel, good sized rooms. Unfortunately some of its facilities were not operational such as the beach club, second (beachfront) restaurant). Air conditioning in the room did not work. Staff seemed functional but not particularly welcoming. Perhaps they felt it was the end of the season. Maybe they should fully function and then close rather than stay half open.
