Look no further for the quintessential Caribbean beach than La Toc, where you can while away the days swimming, relaxing and snorkeling. A large yet low-key hotel resort forms the backdrop to La Toc Beach. Facilities and amenities, including watersports operators offering windsurfing and sailing, are available. Despite this, the beach remains quiet and uncrowded and, because of its gentle waters, is particularly good for families with young children,. Spend the days splashing in the bath-warm waters, building sandcastles and trying various exhilarating watersports. If you don’t feel like being active, simply lay back on a lounger, soak up the sun and enjoy a picnic. La Toc Beach is a wide crescent-shaped beach, with a small bluff jutting out into the water. The water is clean and crystal-clear and while snorkeling it is possible to spot iridescent tropical fish just off the beach. Retire to the on-site snack bar for lunch after a morning of beach activities or buy a cool and refreshing drink from one of the vendors who wander along the sand. For something different, head to one of the fine-dining restaurants in the vicinity, which serve a mixture of Caribbean and international cuisines including plenty of fresh, locally caught seafood. La Toc Beach is located a short distance from the capital city of Castries on the north coast of the island, meaning you can be shopping in a bustling market in the morning and lazing on the beach by lunchtime. Make your way to the Sandals Regency La Toc resort and follow the path down to reach the beach. (1,000 reviews) Bay Gardens Beach Resort provided a relaxing couple day stay in the Rodney Bay area. The staff were all very helpful and friendly. The rooms were clean and the air conditioning quiet. A major downside was not knowing the resort was undergoing construction when I booked a garden room. The balcony view was a construction site next door. It was unexpected and we would have paid for an upgraded room if it were offered or we had known in advance. We had half board (breakfast and dinner included) for two nights. Dinner included a drink per person, appetizer, main, and dessert. Great breakfast! Your credit card doesn't remain on file so anything purchased separately needs to be paid at time of sale. It was just a little quirky. We still settled a bill for tips from dinners at the end of the stay. I had an issue with the supposedly FREE mon-motorized Walter-Sport available to guests: stand up paddle board or hobie cat. The owner questioned our sailing ability (like demanded to know our sailing resume) for the hobie cat and yelled at her staff for not putting a life jacket in the right spot. We pointed to our national regatta competition shirt. She sneered anyone can buy a shirt. We sailed the hobie cat in the bay 1.25 hours (fun) and got yelled at (seriously) when we came back for being late when we said at the beginning we didn't have a watch & the attendant put her hand out for a tip for handing in our life vests. The resort needs a much friendlier water sport vendor.
