The TV situation was a little crazy but we got by. The pool is pretty small for a property that houses up to 22 people but we still had A LOT of fun! Check-in was easy. Our family had a fantastic vacation at Pioneer Trail Retreat. I’ve been renting vacation homes through VRBO for 2 decades, and this is probably my family’s favorite place now (mine also)! It was super clean, with everything we needed. Nice and tucked away in a little hollow, it is an amazing location and property. Lots of room to spread out and relax. The pool and fire pit area was our favorite spot. We’ve already rebooked for next year’s vacation and cannot wait. Owner had issues with the on site Well, for the first day of check in we had no water upon arrival, but the property manager worked to resolve the issue and had us temporary water for the night and the well company returned the next day to install a more permanent fix. Game room under pool porch had a musty smell but other wise very nice location and lots of space pool was nice to come back to to relax and let the kids play. ##### Mitchell S. The amount of space to spread out here is amazing. We will likely be back with a larger group to enjoy it all again. Location is scenic and out of the way but so close to all the things. The dining space in the main house so we could all eat together was wonderful. Everything you need in the kitchen. Being completely honest we were here for spring break and there were some random things laying around the property and some broken door handles and flooring. Things that could be fixed with a quick walk through by the owner, and with the way this host was so responsive I’m sure will be fixed asap. It’s a one of a kind place to stay and kept us all together when we wanted to be with the option to separate when we needed to. Earned its 5 stars for sure! ##### Katelyn B. Séjour de 3 nuits en janvier 2025 ### 8/10 – Bien #### Kristy L. 24 oct. 2024 Points forts : Propreté #### Overall had a very nice time Overall we did have a good time and nothing ended up being detrimental but we did run into several issues that could have been avoided to provide for a much better experience and a definite 5 star review. The pictures definetly made it look better than it was, particularly in the pool area. We had leaves in the bottom of the pool, leaf piles around the pool and broken chairs. Amongst other issues, several things had not been cleaned in a VERY long time and 3 of the 4 games in the game room were broken. Additionally there WAS a Wifi issue (as stated in the listing) but my dad spent 2 hours fixing it so now there is wifi in every house except the game room. Apparently we should have put it back the way it was because when I told the owner we had fixed it I did not received any thank you or acknowledgement for fixing his property. Unfortunately now a days WiFi is crucial especially when you have no cell service in the mountains so the fact that we fixed it so that all guests can utilize it, I would expect at least a big thank you or some kind of gesture of appreciation but I did not get it. Not to say anything negative about the host. He was extremely patient, kind, and helpful with all my questions. Overall I would stay there again (hopefully under better conditions) mostly because the road the house is located on comes out right at a traffic light so getting around was incredibly easy and convenient plus my dogs had a TON of room to roam ##### Kristy L. The “play room” was a hit for my 3 year old. The main house could fit pretty much all of us for dinner time. The area was great, so peaceful no traffic coming through. The pool and hot tub area was great. The only thing we can complain about is the cleanliness of the property, a lot of stuff outside could have been cleaned up better, like the landscaping. And we did go during hurricane so it flooded around the pool and into the game room. But overall we had a great stay! We want to come back again. It is a sprawling property with plenty of room. The owner was great to deal with. I sent several messages back and forth with random questions ahead of our trip and they always responded timely. I asked them if there was a Keurig machine and they said there is not but when we arrived there was a brand new one on the counter! Very nice. Driving up into the cabin the first time is not for the faint of heart. There a lot of hair pin curves. It was less scary after the first time. But I wouldn’t take a car that doesn’t have much pickup. ##### Angela D.
