"A truly wonderful property to fully commune with Mother Nature's grandeur, while visiting the Island.Bald Eagles were everywhere, along with heron, porpoise, seals and even the occasional whale, this late in the season. Not to mention fishing boats, whale watching boats, commercial freighters and cruise ships passing by as well, all visible from the cottage and the back deck. The spot is ideal, sitting up on a cliff, overlooking 'Head Harbour Passage', with western skies visible in the evenings.A great location for easy access to Head Harbour Lighthouse (1 mi), kayak launching (1 mi), fresh seafood (1/2 mi) and a small island convenience store (1 mi).There are two beautiful parks and a whale watching tour company on the other side of the island (7 to 8 mi), including the renowned Roosevelt Campobello International Park, almost exclusively free-of-charge. Don't miss an opportunity to attend "Eleanor's Tea", which will surely leave you with a lasting impression of Eleanor Roosevelt's contributions to the local area, the Country and the World.Life is short, fragile and 'someday' is not guaranteed. If you can, make time in your busy lives to come experience this place...... you won't be disappointed.Reserved this property for 4 nights, during the week, in late September 2026, for a visit with a Childhood Friend and their Spouse. "This is our second time at one of Dennis's properties, We had hoped to go back to Whale of a View because it was so suited to our needs, and we took Starfish because that was our option. It was meant to be, as it was even MORE suited to our needs. From swinging buoys and a loft for our 11 year old granddaughter to a gated deck for our 1 year old granddaughter, various places to dine, a variety of seating areas outside making relaxing easy, and a hammock because it belongs we were very happy. The kitchen had a large variety of cookware and dishes plus a blender for my smoothie. However, I might add a knife sharpener to the mix :). We did have one concern on the first night, Dennis got back to me right away, and the answer arrived in the morning. We had a couple of lovely chats with Dennis when he came by to water the flowers. All in all we were very happy. Thanks Dennis for a home away from home to rest between visits from on island family."

"We enjoyed our stay and the host was very kind and responsive to all my questions. The house was in good shape and well-appointed. The only disappointment was the metal staircase going down to the beach, It is in such bad shape that its unsafe to use - you have to use it at your own risk - a few steps were almost entirely rusted through. The information for the place emphasized the lovely beach area, so we were expecting to have safe access to it. Other than the beach access issue, I would gladly recommend this VRBO to anyone."

"We had such a pleasant stay. Apartment was spotless and had everything we needed. Sunset view from balcony is priceless. Great place to unwind. Got to meet the host Natalie who was very friendly. If your a sea glasser walk to the Pier Restaurant right up the street to gain the beach access and you’ll come back with handfuls! Highly recommend if you’re looking for a peaceful getaway! Thank you Natalie!"

"We had a great stay at Periwinkle Cottage. My favorite spot was the screened in porch watching all the activity on the water; boats, birds, and even a few porpoises. The cottage had everything we needed to feel right at home. The window-box flower arrangements were simply stunning and caught our eye upon arrival…clearly cared for and admired.. I loved walking around the cabin taking in all the old artifacts strewn tastefully throughout of earlier times on the island…quite the collection. We’ve now stayed at two of the properties and neither have disappointed. Only complaint is the time on the island is never long enough…but we’ll be back. Thank you!"
