This villa has4 bedrooms, 4 bathrooms, 2 separate offices,a dining room anda room dedicated to a pool billiard table for your enjoyment. It also includes an enclosed 2 car garage. There is ample parking space for your boat or RV. It has both a covered front porch and a screened back porch with a view of the swimming pool. It is child friendly, with a playground, a zipline, and 2.5 acres of space to play. Amenities include fishing opportunities in several local rivers, as well as the Gulf of Mexico (Keaton Beach is just 30 minutes away). There are lots of specialty shops to enjoy and Walmart is less than 10 miles away. The Jack and Jill Bedrooms share a central bathroom. One has a queen bed and stacked bunk beds. The other Jack and Jill bedroom has a queen bed. All rooms are equipped with televisions, ceiling fans, and chest of drawers. The next bedroom has a queen sized bed, television, private full bath, and a deck to view the pool area. The overhead vent fan was broken. Minutes later, the carbon monoxide alarm in the main hallway went off — all four of us witnessed it. We opened doors, evacuated outside, and waited, but the alarm made it clear: this house was unsafe.We contacted the host via VRBO messaging around 11 p.m. — no response. We called VRBO directly but sat on hold for 20 minutes with no help. At that point, we had no choice: we reloaded all of our belongings and groceries into our cars and tried to find a hotel. In this rural area, nothing was available. After already driving 4–5 hours to get there, both couples were forced to leave in the middle of the night and drive another 4–5 hours home. Our weekend was ruined. Host did not respond until next afternoon (AFTER I logged formal VRBO complaint).Adding insult to injury, the host refused to refund a cent. VRBO’s “investigation” demanded pictures of carbon monoxide (impossible!) and parroted the host’s claim that the detector never went off and that it was just a smoke alarm. This is flat-out false.Bottom line: this property was unsafe, the host was unresponsive, and VRBO did not help. ##### Austin K. Property manager is an absolute gem of a woman who checked on us throughout our stay and even brought us wood and starter for the fire pit they have outside. She is amazing!
