Please note that the walk is along a busy roadway, so caution is advised. The house is located on a wooded lot with a spacious yard that includes a fire pit and a basketball hoop! There are 2 decks. The first deck is in the front of the house and the second is off the back of the house where you will find a gas grill for cooking out. Both decks offer a private wooded setting where you can feel at one with nature. BEDDING CONFIGURATION THIS HOME SLEEPS 6 GUESTS BEDROOM #1 MIANLEVEL: QUEEN BED BEDROOM #2 UPPER LEVEL: FULL BED & SLEEPER SOFA BEDROOM #3 UPPER LEVEL: 4 TWIN BEDS (ONE IS A TRUNDLE) This home comfortably sleeps 8 people. The main floor master bedroom has a queen bed. The other 2 bedrooms are on the upper level, the first has a full bed and a pull out sofa and the other bedroom has 4 twin beds (One of them is a trundle). There is a full bathroom on the main level and a 1/2 bath upstairs. This vacation rental features a spacious living room that opens to the kitchen and dining areas! There is plenty of room for your family to enjoy their vacation in this home! This property does not have air conditioning and is not pet-friendly. Note from Owner: "Welcome to Parrot Head Cottage! We are so happy you are here to enjoy our getaway. What we love about this property is the proximity to Lake Michigan. A short walk has you on a beautiful stretch of pristine beach along the clear water of the Big Lake. Our favorite activity is to pack up and spend the day at the beach, enjoying the sunshine and water. The sunsets are spectacular as well. When we've had enough of the beach, and really that never happens ;), we have a hard time deciding whether to go North or South. To the South of us, there is Silver Lake and the sand dunes. Craig's Cruisers is always a good time, and The Frickin' Chicken has really good food. To the North is Pentwater. We love strolling through the many shops and have not found a bad restaurant yet. Our favorites are The Brown Bear and The Antler Bar. When we are not in the mood to explore we love relaxing on the deck with a cold beverage. Every night is spent around the campfire underneath a glowing canopy of stars. We do hope you enjoy this place as much as we do." Silver Lake is located in Mears, Michigan, and offers shorelines along Lake Michigan and Silver Lake. While vacationing here you won't want to miss out on the experiences that the massive Silver Lake Sand Dunes have to offer. Rent a jeep of your own or head over to Mac Wood's Dune Rides for an adventurous ride on the sand dunes. Nearby is the Hart-Montague Bicycle Trail which will take you along 22.5 miles of scenic routes. The quaint little town of Pentwater is located just north of the Silver Lake area. Pentwater is the epitome of small-town charm with its shops, food, and ice cream. Don't forget to grab breakfast at Cherry Point, where they offer homemade donuts and treats daily. For dinner, spend an evening at Golden Sands, a small, family-owned restaurant and golf course that will leave a lasting impression. Plan on spending a day with your family at Michigan's Adventure for a day of action and excitement. Upon entering, we were greeted by an old, musty smell that suggested the house had been locked up for a while. As we opened the windows, we noticed that two windows next to the sliding door were broken and wouldn’t stay up. My husband had to fix one window because the entire window slid down.On the positive side, the kitchen was very nicely updated and fully furnished. However, we encountered an issue with the tub not draining properly, but it was promptly addressed and fixed.Overall, Parrothead Retreat was a pleasant stay, but it could benefit from some updates and more comfortable living room furniture. Our family thoroughly enjoyed our time there. I would recommend a bit more TLC beyond the kitchen. Additionally, I felt misled about the beach access being down the road. ##### dawn s. About 7 minutes from the dunes and a short walk down to the beach. Size of the property was perfect we spent a whole day cooking at the bonfire and playing outdoor games. Spent almost every night watching the sunset on Lake Michigan. The kids loved their "rooms" everyone picked their own spot enjoyed their time spent in it. ##### Ashley Y.
