The retreat is minutes away from Cascade Mountain ski resort. Home features three full size bedrooms along with a pull-out sofa and loveseat sleepers in the living room. Each bedroom includes a full-size bed, dressers, night stands, lamps, roomy closets and linens. The full service kitchen includes seating for six, full size refrigerator, electric stove, microwave, coffee maker, blender, toaster oven, dishes, along with pots and pans. Washer and dryer located in basement. Spacious living room includes lots of seating, large picture window view of river twisting through door yard, relaxing fireplace space heater, 32" color television and expandable dining room table. Recently remodeled bathroom offers a ceramic tile bath/shower unit, new sink and towels. A rustic shower-only stall is also located in basement. For your recreational needs, a pool table and basketball arcade game are located in basement. Picnic table on a paver-brick patio located outside kitchen window, near charcoal barbecue. Lots of extra room on the property for campers or recreational vehicles, if staging a large family/friend gathering. Bonfires allowed outside in pit located near the river. Some firewood provided. About a 30 minute drive to Cascade and 50 minute drive to Devils head, making both perfectly manageable. Easy close access to grocery stores as well. The property itself had everything you could ask for in a getaway, cute stream running through, fireplace, charcoal grill, trails and more! Wood floors with rugs and vhs tapes! The trails were fun to walk along and see the Fox river and have kids run out some energy. Then settle in for a night of games in the basement. The Fox River Retreat is nestled away in a small quiet area. We enjoyed the solitude as well as the beauty of the small river flowing on the property. Needs some thorough cleaning. Water pressure is not the greatest and very low shower head. However the grounds and shopping in the area made up for it! Advertised as sleeps 9, but only 3 beds and 2 pullouts. Depending on what you are looking for. Definitely great for games and outdoor activities! Plan to return in the future... ##### Lorna L. Most definitely will be returning. Greeted right away with the Amish. Got to enjoy the great outdoors of the property by getting in the river, taking a stroll on the lawn path, and having a small fire at night. There was plenty of space for the whole family to run around outside and to fit inside! The house was equipped with everything and more! Sure, there is a smell to the house but it give character. We were pleasantly surprised to find a pool table, dart board, basketball and air hockey in the basement. Could not find the firepit (did find a burn barrel). The heat was kind of an issue. It was below 54 degrees when we got there inside. We turned on the thermostat to around 70\. When we got home it was around 64 and it stayed there all weekend. Would have like to know it was well water, but I should have figured that out by location.
