La Vache qui Pleure, Tagharghart, Tassili n'Ajer 

La Vache qui Pleure means The crying cow which is the famous petroglyph or stone basrelief on these wonderful rocks in the desert near Djanet in Tassili n'Ajer. It depicts  cows with tears coming out of their eyes. It is some 5 thousand years old art made by the people living here in times when Sahara was more like a savannah, hovewer already as a mementum of the coming desertification of this land. The legend says that one day the cows were returning to their water reservoir and found out there is no water, so they started to shed their tears...
