This Palm Spring vacation getaway is a classic mid-century home designed by Palmer and Krisel located in the historic Twin Palms development in south Palm Springs. The Twin Palms neighborhood is one of the most photographed neighborhoods by famous photographer, Julius Shulman. Mid-century architectural details include a cinder block wall in diamond patterns along the entrance and signature sun folds over the windows on the front exterior. The open floor plan of the great room features high post and beams ceilings creating that classic look, enhanced with walls of glass and clerestory windows for abundant natural lighting. An enormous floating block fireplace is the centerpiece of the living room and creates the perfect gathering area for a fun-filled vacation with family and friends. From the great room, step through the large sliding glass doors to a private patio with spectacular mountain views. Here you can enjoy a putting green, shuffleboard, a large sparkling pool, or have a siesta in the twin palms hammock! After a day of enjoying the refreshing pool, take advantage of the poolside fire pit, outdoor kitchen, and BBQ area in the evening. For a formal meal, the full kitchen offers plenty of counter space with modern appliances for the inspired chef to create your favorite meals.

Great property, but some management issues
The property and location are great, and the house was clean and well stocked. Vacasa require either an in person or virtual check in, and the communication for that was good right up until we went to the property and tried to enter. We needed to get in right at 4pm to do a quick freshen up and change before picking up family at the airport & make it to dinner, but they didn't send the email with entry codes until 4:15pm. When I finally got a hold of someone in the office to get the entry codes before the email arrived, we tried about 6 different codes and none of them worked. Then they sent someone over to reset the codes, but after he gave us the codes and left, it turned out that the gate code still didn't work. Getting into a property is rental management 101. It was a frustration no one wants to deal with on vacation, especially one that is only 48 hours long. Vacasa eventually made an effort to right the situation by offering us pool/spa heating which we hadn't arranged in advance. (a $72/day add-on). It was much appreciated, but they weren't going to offer up a thing until I complained on the 2nd day when we were still dealing with the lock/code issue.

Sunny getaway and family vacation
We loved our stay in Palm Springs and the house is wonderful. Kitchen is fully equipped and the beds are comfortable. We would definitely stay again. The check in process was the only thing with which we took issue. Rather than Palm Springs Vacasa waiting until the day of check in to request a copy of ID to be sent, maybe request it the day before in a more secure manner than by text.

Twin Palms is Wonderful
We loved our stay at Twin Palms. Vacasa was very responsive to any questions. The location was in a lovely neighborhood. We walked to many spots and also rented bikes for the week which was a very easy way to get around. We had kids in our group ages 8-10, and the biking felt safe and simple. The pool and entire outdoor area was lovely. The beds were comfortable and the home was very clean.

Great property
We had a great time and took advantage of everything the property offered. The kitchen was really well appointed with what we needed to cook our meals. The pool was great. The beds were comfortable. We had three generations there and everyone enjoyed it. Our only small complaint is that the property’s guidebook said the hot tub would heat up if we pushed a button, but it didn’t work, and when I inquired with the property manager they confirmed it doesn’t work. So that’s just a little frustrating that it was falsely described.

Palm Springs Family Reunion
Great property with amenities. Very clean condition of inside of the house. Only fair, impersonal communications prior to the day of arrival. We were dismayed by the repeated warnings of what we could not do and the possible penalties that could be levied on us. I supposed this is aimed at the 10% who are jerks and either party or trash a rental. But for a family event with ages 10 to 71, we only needed to hear/read this once.

Great - But some surprises
It is a great house in a good location. BUT, they won't let you put the air below 76 degrees which made it very difficult to sleep. Only a fan in the master. Quiet hours weren't enforced on the weekend, I called to complain about kids in the pool at 7am screaming next door and didn't even get a return call. Also, I was locked out when I arrived. The door was jammed and the office gave me a code that didn't work. So, we waited outside for nearly an hour to get in. Once in though - it is a great house and the kitchen has everything you can think of. Very nicely equipped with quality towels as well. Be aware of the extra $50 a day for the pool to be heated - which you don't even need but its the only way to make the spa work. I had missed that in the fine print.
