Our second camp site at Hanaker had an amazing hike up the canyon wall to a look out over the river and canyon. Very hot hike, but the views were amazing. If I did this one again, I would probably go in the morning. The raft trip itself is pretty easy, only one Class III rapid. It is far more grand than it appears from the outside. Inside, soaring ceilings, beautiful woodwork and impressive gallery quality timber furniture pieces abound. Being in the house feels like being sheltered by a massive tree. Beautiful craftsmanship everywhere. Sunny. bright, welcoming, incredible views from every window. Sparkling clean, generously appointed with anything a traveler could possibly need. An extra lovely touch was a closet full of excellent toys, and child sized furniture for the little ones.
