" The facilities were not bad, everything else was horrible. This IS NOT a luxury apartment. We arrived and the room was 85 degrees at least, and were told it will cool down in a while, was probably 3-4 hours. There were no bath towels, then they gave us 4 full-size towels. No other small towels, or a shower mat. They did eventually get us a shower mat. Also, no kitchen dish towels or dish rags were there, told them and we never did get any. "This hotel has a fantastic location—just steps from the seaside walk/strip, which made it easy to get out and enjoy the area. The lobby is beautiful and clean, and the front desk staff were incredibly helpful, especially since my Spanish skills are basically non-existent. They were patient, kind, and welcoming from the moment we arrived. One thing that really stood out was the large dining area. You have several options: sitting at the bar, outdoor seating, or indoor seating—three different areas depending on the vibe you want. Breakfast is included and was exceptional. There were so many choices, from Panamanian dishes to American options. Coffee and juice are free, and if you want an espresso, cappuccino, or latte, those are available for a small additional cost—which I didn’t mind at all. They also had an omelette station, though there was usually a line, so I didn’t get a chance to try it. The dining staff were just as friendly and attentive as the front desk. Our room was fantastic—very clean, very spacious, and the view was absolutely amazing. Overall, this was a wonderful stay, and I would absolutely recommend this hotel to anyone visiting Panama City."

"We had a great stay at the RIU. Our room was spacious, clean and quiet. Our check in with Luis was great and very fast! We had great service at the main restaurant from Melissa and then again at breakfast. Mellisa was a wonderful server and she spoke very good English which is helpful to me as I am still learning Spanish. The buffet breakfast is amazing. We also enjoyed a nice afternoon at the pool. We did had a bad experience on Saturday at the main bar. We came to bar and sat down and waited. We were never acknowledged and the tall female bartender never made eye contact with us and never spoke to us. Then a new male bartender came and he did the same and ignored us. He then waited on a couple that had come to the bar after us. The bar was not busy. There were 3 couples there counting us. Maybe it was because my wife is Latina and I am Americano? Not sure what their issue was. Service can be slow in Panamá but this was different. We just left and went to the main restaurant where we ordered a nice model of wine an appetizers and this is where we experienced great, friendly service from Melissa. All in all a great hotel and we will return and we would recommend the hotel. "
